ANDI EIGENMANN allegedly said before that she wants to lie low from showbiz. But after “Maid in London” that was just shown a couple of months ago, she’s now about to be seen in a new Viva movie in time for Halloween, “All Souls Night”.
“I trust Viva when it comes to my projects and this project is an idea of Direk Yam Laranas who did a Hollywood horror flick (“Sigaw - Echo”), directed by Aloy Adlawan and Jules Katanyag who’re both writers-directors from GMA-7,” she says. “I liked the story when they presented it to me and I really had fun doing it with them. They’re great artists and good people. Hindi basta senseless horror yung movie namin na nananadyang manggulat at manakot. This one is creepy all throughout.”
In “All Souls Night”, she plays the role of Shirley, an all around helper and nanny who is hired to take care of a sick man (Allan Paule.) Ellen (Yayo Aguila), the wife, has three important house rules for her. First is: Huwag kang lalabas. Just keep all the doors and windows of the house always shut. Second: Huwag kang magtatanong. No matter what you see or hear, you’re not supposed to ask questions. Third: Huwag kang makikialam. Don’t ever meddle in anything without their permission.
Andi as Shirley meets the couple’s 8-year old daughter (Lhian Gimeno), who is so scared and terrified. The girl tells Shirley that the sick man is not really her father. Then things start to get more scary as she experiences more nerve-wracking incidents inside the house. She’d want to go out and leave before it’s too late, but there will be forces to prevent her from doing so. The movie opens on October 31, in time for All Saints Day or Todos Los Santos.
With regard to her lovelife, after being linked to Jake Ejercito
(father of her love child, Ellie), Albie Casino, Bret Jackson, surfer Emilio Arambulo when she was in Baler (they were on for two years), Andi has a new boyfriend now that she’s in Siargao, a surfer named Philmar Alipayo. “Friend ko na siya even before noong kami pa ni Emilio,” she says. “Nag-break kami ni Emilio early this year kasi magkaiba ang mga gusto namin sa buhay, but we’re still
friends. Philmar is a surfing champion, number one dito sa Pinas, at bago pa lang kami. We became on in July lang. He was born and raised in Siargao. He makes me strive to be a better version of myself. I love my life in the island. Beach girl kasi talaga ako at heart and we plan to put up a business there for tourists. As I grew older, I realized na mas gusto ko talaga ang tahimik na buhay, a simple life na malayo sa gulo ng city life. It’s not true that I will retire from showbiz. Acting is my passion and I just love and enjoy doing it. Basta may magandang project, I’m willing to do it pa rin. Anyway, kung may offers naman ako, madali lang magpunta sa Manila to work here then go back home there kapag tapos na ang trabaho ko rito.”
How about her daughter Ellie? “She likes life in Siargao. Magkasundo sila ni Phil and tinuturuan nga siya ni Phil mag-surfing. She really enjoys it. But right now, nasa school pa siya here in Manila. She’s in grade one. It’s up to her if she wants to stay with me later in the island. Okay naman kami ngayon ng father niya. We’re in good terms as her parents and I also invited him to visit Siargao.”
