“Okay lang po yun, I don’t mind,” she says. “Ang ganda ng role ko rito as Amber Bolocboc. Offbeat siya. Anak po ako Roi Vinzon as Rodolfo Roces na tatlo ang asawa. Aside from my mom na si Tita Beth O, asawa rin niya si Gloria Diaz at si Ana Roces at may mga half-sisters ako with them.”
She’s glad to be reunited with Beth Oropesa in the show. “Sa movie na ‘Moonlight Over Baler’, ako yung gumanap na younger version ng character niya sa flashbacks. Tapos ngayon, nanay ko na siya rito. Akala ng ibang tao, heavy drama itong ‘Pamilya Roces’, actually combination siya ng drama and comedy. Very light ang treatment ni Direk Joel Lamangan sa material at maraming hilarious comic scenes. Kami ng nanay ko ritong si Ms. Beth O, outsiders kami dahil nabuo lang ako after my mom had a one night stand with Roi Vinzon. Pero ipipilit namin ang sarili namin at gagawa kami ng paraan para mapasama kami sa ‘Pamilya Roces’, with hilarious results.”
She’s also happy to be reunited with former co-stars on TV5, Jasmine Curtis Smith and Shaira Diaz who, liked her, moved to GMA-7 after TV5 entertainment folded up. “They play my half sisters. First time ko naman pong makakatrabaho rito sina Carla Abellana and Gabbi Garcia as half sisters ko rin. The guys we’re working with are Christian Bautista, Rocco Nacino, Andre Paras and Manolo Pedrosa.”
Vin Abrenica, her boyfriend, has admitted he’s the one who made the initial move to reconcile with her after they broke up for a while. Is there truth to the rumor now that they’re planning to walk down the aisle soon? “Naku, it’s not true. We’ve talked about it but nothing serious yet. We’re both making our careers our priority. I’ve just signed a contract with GMA-7 at bago pa lang ako rito so trabaho muna ang aasikasuhin ko, lalo’t enjoy naman ako sa assignments na binibigay nila sa’kin which started with ‘The One that Got Away’.”
