“Nagpapasalamat talaga ako sa GMA dahil patuloy silang naniwala sa akin at kinuha nila ako uli kahit napakaraming artistang available sa panahon ngayon,” he says. “GMA naman talaga ang pinanggalingan ko at iisa lang naman ang industriya natin so parang gulong lang yan, umiikot din ang mga artista.”
He says he was the one who sent feelers to GMA for him to be able to work with them again. “It’s a good thing that I didn’t burn my bridges with them when I moved to another network. Nagpaalam naman ako nang maayos and now, ang sarap ng feeling na balik Kapuso ako. I’m really happy and feel blessed na nasa GMA-7 na uli ako.”
In the hit primetime drama “Onanay”, he plays the role of Lucas Pascual, the lawyer husband of Vaness del Moral as Imelda, with newcomer Enrico Cuenca as their son, Oliver, who is siding with Mikee Quintos in her fight of the villainous Kate Valdez. But there will be a twist in Wendell’s character that will surely shock viewers later on. It will turn out that he’s the real father of one of the major characters in the story.
“Abangan nyo dahil pasabog talaga ang surprise na yun sa ‘Onanay’,” he adds. “Maraming magugulat.”
Off cam, Wendell is married to a non-showbiz wife, Kukay Guevarra, He admits he has three kids with different mothers. The eldest is named Wendell Saviour, a good singer who is now 20 years old, followed by Dedell Saviour who’s now 17 and the youngest is Tanya, who’s 10 years old.
