Arra San Agustin On The Chances Of Her And 'My Special Tatay' Ken Chan Also Going Steady In Real Life

ARRA SAN AGUSTIN says her role as Carol in “My Special Tatay” is the biggest break she got from GMA-7 since she became a runner up at Startruck 6 three years ago. “Ito kasi ang first lead role ko talaga,” she says. “I was paired with Ken Chan before in ‘The Cure’, but support lang kami roon. Dito, kami na talaga ang main characters.”

She was then majoring in psychology at La Salle when she joined Starstrck 6. Her plan was to go to medicine proper later. “Yun ang dream ko noon, but now, I realized mas gusto ko ang magkaroon ng successful acting career kasi ibang satisfaction ang nakukuha ko rito. After Starstruck, inilagay ako sa ‘Encantadia’ and I felt at home agad doon. Now, when people ask me, bakit hindi mo pinagpatuloy ang medicine, I tell them na kung itutuloy ko, baka mag-drop out din ako later kasi mas masaya na ako ngayon sa showbiz.”

Her passion for acting now that she is in ‘My Special Tatay’. “Dito ko talaga naramdaman na gusto kong maging magaling na aktres. At nakatulong naman dito ang kaalaman ko sa psychology. May mild intellectual disability rito si Ken Chan as Boyet and me as his BFF na si Carol, I’m in a good position para malaman where he is coming from.”

She’s thankful to the viewers of “My Special Tatay” for accepting her in the show. “Ang gaganda ng pino-post nilang feedback sa performance ko in the show and it warms my heart to be able to please them. Gayundin naman ang positive comments kay Ken, kaya nga mas ginaganahan pa kaming magtrabaho as Carol and Boyet at mas pagbubutihin pa ang bawat eksena na ginagawa namin.”

What can she say about those who also support Ken’s tandem with Rita Daniela as Aubrey? “No problem kasi we all support reach other. Basta sa ikagaganda pa ng show, we’re all for it. Friend ko naman si Rita at mabait siya sa akin. Ang mahalaga, mas suportahan nila ang bawat episode ng show.”

So who will get Ken as Boyet in the end? “We don’t really know at this point. Yung writers kasi, binabagay rin nila ang takbo sa story sa reaction ng viewers so we don’t know yet kung saan ito talaga hahantong.”

Is their a possibility of romance blooming between them on and off cam? “Mabait si Ken at lagi pa kaming magkasama, so we never can tell. But I don’t think it’s his priority kasi he’s so family oriented. May sakit ang father niya at alam ko kung anong pinagdaraanan niya.
