Award-Winning Actor Arnold Reyes Teams Up With Mrs. Lorna Tobias Of Sta. Ana, Cagayan Valley To Come Up With A Love Album, 'Sana May Forever'

ARNOLD REYES has won awards for acting in such films as “Astig” and “Birdshot”. But he actually started as a singer as part of the boy group called Voysboys. Now, he returns to singing in a new compilation album, “Sana May Forever, The Love Album”, which he also produced for LST Music Productions. He also wrote the songs in collaboration with Mrs. Lorna Tobias. How did the album come about?

“I did a show in Sta. Ana, the town at the tip of Northern Luzon in Cagayan Valley noted for its white sand beach, and I met there Mrs. Tobias, the wife of the town’s mayor, Darwin Tobias,” says Arnold.



Mrs. Tobias turns out to be a music lover. “I asked Arnold to make a song for my husband’s slogan campaign and when he agreed, we had a meeting and he asked me to work with him,” says Mrs. Tobias. “I enjoyed helping him write the song and the whole process of creating music, so we thought of doing a full album. I know the music industry is down ngayon, wala ng CD’s at puro digital na lang. But I felt I have to do this kasi music is my passion. At yun, nabuo yung album and it’s Arnold who contacted all the artists na kasama rito. Some are new or inactive but gusto ko lang makatulong to give them exposure and help them in boosting their careers.”

The 13 songs in the album are “Sana May Forever”, the title track that Arnold himself interprets, “Bakit Mahal Pa Rin Kita” by Brenan Espartinez, “Our Shadows Can’ Lie” by Jingle Buena, “Kung Malayo Ka” by Lharby Policarpio, “My Heart Aches” by Suy Galvez, “Hindi Na Ba” by Renz Verano, “You Color My World” by Jingle Buena, “Wala Lang Ba Talaga” by Pat Cardoza, “In Love Ako Sa’yo” by Raynald Simon, “Hindi Ko Kaya” by Chivas Malunda, “Ikaw Yun” by Laarni Lozada and “Mahal Kita” by Faith Cuneta.

The album with its fresh, light-hearted songs won in the Star Awards for Music recently, encouraging Arnold and Mrs. Tobias to come up with more new songs that they’re now including in their forthcoming second album. “Ang galing magsulat ng kanta ni Mrs. Tobias,” says Arnold. “Straight from the heart kaya catchy ang lyrics niya.”

“Later on, I plan to hold a concert featuring all the artists included in our album,” adds Mrs. Tobias. “Ang gaganda ng songs nila, sayang naman kung hindi maise-share with the public.”
