ARRA SAN AGUSTIN was originally meant to be Ken Chan’s leading lady in the hit Afternoon Prime soap of GMA-7, “My Special Tatay”. She plays Carol, the best friend of Ken as the simple-minded Boyet, but as luck would have it, the show’s loyal viewers gravitated more towards Rita Daniela as Aubrey, the mother of Boyet’s baby. In a recent episode, Arra finally admitted her true feelings for Ken and, judging from the reaction on social media, many people were able to sympathize with her and her situation which is plain and simple a case of unrequited love.
“I was really surprised by the reaction of the viewers,” says Arra. “Umiyak daw sila for me kasi masakit naman daw talaga yung minamahal mong best friend, may mahal na palang iba. Pero siempre, sobrang tindi ng selos ni Rita as Aubrey sa akin at marami ring nakikisimpatiya sa kanya, lalo’t may agaw-eksena siyang nanay, si Angeli Bayani as Myrna.”

The fans of the Boyet and Aubrey love team have tagged them as BoBrey and they feel that they are more right for each other as they have positive influences on each other’s lives. “Mas cute ang tambalang BoBrey,” writes one fan on the internet.
Another one says: “Huwag ka nang umasa Arra as Carol. Hindi kayo puedeng i-tag na pagsamahin ang Boyet at Carol kasi lalabas na BoRol. Ano yan? Lamay ng patay? Pabayaan mo na si Boyet kay Aubrey!”

Arra says her fans urge her not to give up. “Sabi nila, basta huwag akong susuko, kasi pokpok naman si Aubrey,” she adds. “All these exchanges sa social media can only mean one thing, talagang love nila ang show at pinapanood nila ito kaya ganun sila ka-involved sa mga nangyayari sa show. So, tutukan nyo lang po dahil mas titindi pa ang love triangle between Boyet, Aubrey and Carol. Malayo pa ang tatakbuhin ng story naming tatlo.”
