Julie Anne San Jose Thankful For A Productive Past Year, Believes 2019 Will Be Even Better

JULIE ANNE SAN JOSE’s own rendition of the Parokya ni Edgar song, “Your Song”, has reached 15 million views on YouTube. Her version shows how good a singer she is so some folks are suggesting she should focus on her singing more as this is where she’s really good at. Early last year, she staged an intimate solo concert at Music Museum called “#Julie” where her songs represented the various stages of love. It was a huge success and a good way for to start the year right.

She then returned to acting in the musical series, playing Celina in “My Guitar Princess”, an aspiring singer where she’s paired with Gil Cuerva and Kiko Estrada. She also used her voice for the lead female character in the first ever Filipino anime series, “Barangay 143”, with Ruru Madrid.

And every Sunday, you can watch her doing musical number with top Kapuso singers in “Studio 7” at night and, at noontime, she’s a regular in the country’s number one musical comedy show, “Sunday Pinasaya”, and in the sitcom “Pepito Manaloto”. She won two awards last year, the FAMAS German Moreno Youth Achievement Award and the Female Pop Artist of the Year award from the Star Awards for Music.

Her first single with Universal Records, “Nothing Left,” hit it big in the music charts while her OPM single “Tayong Dalawa” debuted at the number one spot 30 minutes after its release. She then launched he new album, “Breakthrough”, that remained at the top of iTunes Philippines All Genre chart for one week, a rare accomplishment for OPM albums.

Last October, Julie Anne took part in the Awit At Laro album, a collaboration of the country’s top recording artists and musical composers produced by Gary Valenciano and Manila Genesis for the benefit of UNICEF, Shining Light Foundation Inc., and Tukod Foundation Inc. Their advocacy celebrates the spirit of Filipino games through music and arts to make both children and adults to let go of their gadgets and play.

She also showcased her talent in a series of successful local and international concerts, including the ‘3 Stars, 1 Heart’ concerts in Cebu, Dagupan, and Dubai, and the early Christmas treat to Kapuso Abroad in ‘Kapusong Pinoy: Paskuhan at Kantawanan sa Anaheim’ at The Grove of Anaheim in Los Angeles, California last October 7.

This 2019, she headlines the first leg of the Kapuso concerts called 'The Sweetheart and the Balladeer: Fun Night Only' with Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista. The concert tour kicks off on January 27, 2019 at the Iloilo Convention Center, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, with a next show lined up this February 10 at The Atrium, Limketkai Center, Lapasan, Cagayan de Oro.

With the year that she had, there is no doubt that Julie Anne is off to more exciting things this 2019. But although her career is doing really well, her fans are sad because when it comes to her love life, it’s common knowledge that she has called it quits with Kapuso actor Benjamin Alves.
