LOUISE DE LOS REYES and Xian Lim have something in common. Louise is originally with GMA-7 and Xian is with ABS-CBN, then they both decided to leave their respective networks and be managed by Viva Entertainment. Louise was last seen in Viva’s “Para sa Broken Hearted” while Xian was in the megahit, “Miss Granny”. Now, they’re together for the first time in the romantic-drama, “Hanggang Kailan”, written by Onay Sales, directed by Bona Fajardo and filmed on location in Saga, Japan. So we ask Louise how is it working with Xian?
“It’s so refreshing to work with Xian,” she says. “It’s our first time to work together but we didn’t have time to get to know each other better before the shoot kasi bigla lang napunta sa’kin ang project. We have to go to Japan right away kasi may hinahabol kaming event doon na kasali sa movie, yung Saga Balloon Festival. On the plane to Japan, dun pa lang kami nagkausap. Kinukulit niya ako.
"When we got to Japan, dun kami nakapag-usap nang husto at nakapagkuwentuhan. You have to open yourself up sa katrabaho mo and we both did, kaya nag-click kami agad. We quickly became friends kasi wala rin naman kaming ibang ka-relate while in Japan. Para lang kaming isang pamilyang nag-outing sa Japan with the crew. Very collaborative na katrabaho si Xian kasi may sarili siyang inputs on how we can do a scene.”
In the movie, she plays Kath, a free spirited girl who finds out Xian as Donnie is secretly having an affair with another girl just as when they’re celebrating their second anniversary. They go on a scheduled trip to Japan but they can both feel it will be their last trip together, even if they’re still in love with each other. Has she ever been in such a complicated relationship in real life?
“Yes, napagdaanan ko na rin sa buhay ang ganun. I thought at first it’s worth it to stay in the relationship. You keep on hoping may maganda pang pupuntahan ito, pero yun pala, one day, na-realize ko, wala na talaga. Siya ang priority mo, pero hindi ikaw ang priority niya. So before you get self destructive, tapusin na.”
She won’t reveal who the guy is. But among those linked to her before were Enzo Pineda and Champ Lui Pio of Hale. So you can jump into your own conclusions. So why is the title of their movie “Hanggang Kailan”?
“Kasi it asks you kung hanggang kailan ka kakapit sa isang pag-ibig na alam mong mali. Hanggang kailan ka magsasakripisyo at puede mo pa bang ituloy ang relationship nyo?Ang maganda sa movie, the heartbreak of Kath and Donnie is told amidst the beautiful landscapes of Japan.”
So how did she find Japan? “Naging memorable talaga ang trip sa’kin. First time ko to visit Japan and I find the place so beautiful. Para siyang probinsiya. Tahimik. Malinis. Malamig. And the people are so respectful. Magagalang at maalaga. We stayed there for ten days at nag-enjoy talaga ako.”
Someone asked if their feelings for each other didn’t develop into something else at all while they’re shooting in a foreign land. “Naku, everyone knows pareho na kaming taken. So trabaho lang po talaga ito and the start of a good friendship between us.”
Xian, as everyone knows, is currently playing beautiful music with Kim Chiu while Louise has a non-showbi BF named Jino.
