“Not true,” he says. “I can make decisions for myself and I have my own career, so bakit ko naman siya kailangang sundan? Sir Noel and I talked at naging maayos ang pag-uusap namin. I just want a change kasi we’ve been together for ten years and now, 29 years old na ako. I’m not getting any younger. Kung before, parang laro-laro lang ang pagtatrabaho ko, now, I’m definitely much more serious than ever before. But definitely, tumatanaw ako ng utang na loob kay Sir Noel, kaya nga I met with him in person, hindi sa phone lang, and I explained my reasons to him at naintindihan naman niya.”
Is it true he rejected a gay role being offered to him? “Yes, it’s true. I want to take a rest from doing gay roles after ‘Dedma Walking’. I won some awards for my role there at ayoko namang ma-typecast sa pagganap ng isang bakla. I want people to remember my performance in ‘Dedma Walking’, and I’m not closing my doors to gay roles. Kung may magandang role and material later, why not? Pero not this time, rest muna ako sa ganyan.”
He wants viewers to know he can do other kinds of roles. “Gusto ko munang ipakita ang ibang side ko sa mga tao, na kaya kong umarte ng lalaki, leading man, that I can do kahit anong klase ng roles na ibibigay sa akin. Kaya nga I like my role in GMA-7’s new soap, ‘Dragon Lady’. I play a Chinese businessman, Goldwyn Cheng.
"Mayaman ako rito, respetado sa lipunan. Kakalabanin ko rito si Janine Gutierrez as my rival, but eventually, I will fall in love with her at magiging karibal ko si Tom Rodriguez sa kanya. And so far, I’m really enjoying working with them and the rest of the cast. Comfortable kami agad na lahat sa isa’t isa kaya maganda ang working relationship namin sa set.”
