Z POP DREAM is a new group of male and female singers-dancers from 7 Asian countries: the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Indonesia, Taiwan and Japan. Viva Communications brought them to Manila and they were presented to the press at Teatrino last Thursday.
“Viva feels privileged to be part of this new concept in making stars,” says Boss Vic del Rosario of Viva, the partner of Glimmer, which represents Z-Pop in Manila. “This goes beyond K-Pop and has a One-Asia goal that will not only create stars but revolutionize the methods used in the global entertainment industry.”
Z-Pop was formed by K-Pop visionary and Zenith Media Contents head Jun Kang who says Z stands for Generation Z and Z-Pop is opening a new chapter of cultural exchange for Asia. The members were recruited by holding auditions in different Asian countries.
One boy and one girl were recruited from each country and all of them were then brought to Korea for rigid training. They had their debut concert in Seoul on February 23 and they were warmly received by the 7,000 people who watched them.
In Manila, they’ll be available for meet and greet on Saturday, March 30, they will at Sta. Lucia, 3 PMand Venice Piazza at 6 PM. On Sunday, March 31, they'll be at SM Dasmarinas, 3 PM; SM Sucat, 6 PM, then they will be the special guests of Billy Crawford, James Reid and Sam Concepcion in their The Crew concert at Araneta Coliseum on April 5. They will launch their debut recordings, “What You Waiting For”, for the Z-Pop Girls and “No Limit” for the Z-Pop Boys.
Here are the members of the Z-Pop Girls: Mahiro from Japan - Full name is Kawamura Mahiro, born on July 23 in Osaka, 1995, a lead vocalist.
Carlyn from the Philippines - Full name is Carlyn Ocampo, born in Cavite on November 15, 1995, lead vocalist, former member of the group called Pop Girls, a masscomm graduate.
Vanya from Indonesia - Full name is Zhavanya Hendranata, born on May 16, 1996, can do beatbox and former member of the Indonesia girl group, Soul Sisters.
Queen from Vietnam - full name is Luc Thuy Quyen, born on April 2, 1997, main rapper and lead dancer. Priyanka from India - Full name is Priyanka Mazumda, born on July 2, 1997 in Assam, India. She won the Excellent Vocals award at the KPop World Festival in India in 2016.
Joanne from Taiwan - She’s the tallest at 5’10”, also a vocalist and lead dancer, speaks fluent Mandarin, English and Korean. Bell from Thailand - The youngest member born on January 5, 2004. She does vocals and dancing.
And here are the members of Z-pop Boys: Mavin from Indonesia - Full name is Malvin Saputra, main dancer and lead rapper. Born on March 6, 1996, a finalist in ‘The Next Boy Band Indonesia’, can speak English well and does gymnastics and martial arts. He’s in a relationship with Vanya of Z-Pop Girls for 3 years now and they have their own youtube channel.
Josh from the Philippines - Full name is Joshuel Bautista, born on October 10, 1996, lead vocalist and dancer, former member of the G Force Dancers and pianist of the group called Caffeine & Taurine.
Perry from Taiwan - Born on February 28, 1996, he is lead vocalist and dancer and can speak English fluently. Roy from Vietnam - Full name is Nguyen Hai Bao, born on August 31, 1996, lead vocalist, has a degree in hospitality and tourism and has won in a modeling competition.
Sid from India - Full name is Siddhant Arora, born on August 4, 1999, speaks good English, he’s well known on youtube in India for his cover versions of hit Bollywood songs.
Gai from Japan - Full name is Gai Futagami, born on June 20, 2000, can play the piano, guitar and bass and also do rap. Blink from Thailand - Full name is Thadol Paitoonphong, the youngest member born on November 14, 2004, can sing, dance and do modeling.
