SOPHIE ALBERT took over the role of Winwyn Marquez in “Pamilya Roces” after the latter backed out. Now, history repeats itself for her as she inherits the role of Reign in “Bihag” which is now shown at 3:25 PM, right after “Dragon Lady”. Her role was first offered to Kim Domingo, who found it too sexy.
“I don’t really mind naman kahit second choice ako,” says Sophie. “I’m even glad nga na napunta sa’kin. So very thankful ako. Hindi naman ganun ka-sexy ang role kasi pang-afternoon show ito. We have a bedscene ni Jason Abalos but it’s needed in the story, kasi masyado akong na-obsessed sa kanya. Parang fatal attraction, na gagawin ko ang lahat maagaw lang siya sa misis niyang si Max Collins. When Max and Jason’s son went missing, isa ako sa mga naging suspects na kumidnap sa bata.”
Doesn’t she have any qualms doing sexy scenes and contravida roles? “No, I’m only young once, so yung mga puede kong gawin pagpapa-sexy ngayon, okay lang na gawin ko na. For sure, when I get married, malilimitahan na ako sa ganyang roles. So far, parehong homewrecker ang roles ko in ‘Pamilya Roces’ and ‘Bihag’ so I’m praying sa susunod, mabait naman ang role na ibigay nila sa’kin so I can show na hindi lang pa-sexy o contravida ako.”
Is it true she has reconciled with Vin Abrenica? “Yes. Noong nag-break kami, it’s a mutual decision para nga mag-focus naman muna kami sa careers namin. Napunta siya sa ABS-CBN at napunta ako sa GMA-7, but our communication has not stopped. Nag-uusap pa rin kami. At ngayon, pareho kaming may bagong shows, so ayun, eventually, naging kami uli. It works well na magkaiba kami ng network. May crowd siya roon, at may sarili rin akong crowd at hindi nahahalo yung work namin sa pansarili naming relasyon.”
Has she met Vin’s family? “Oh yes. They’re all nice to me. I can feel mabait sila sa’kin. He has also met my family at tanggap siya ng mga kapatid ko. Ipinagluluto pa nga siya ng mommy ko.”
