CLINT BONDAD is better known before as the boyfriend of Miss Universe Catriona Gray, but they have since called it quits as Catriona is so busy with her career as an international beauty queen. Clint, in the meantime, is happy that GMA-7 got him and is giving him now a good break in the role of Theo, Jennylyn Mercado’s first boyfriend in the new primetime romantic-comedy, “Love You Two”, that now airs on GMA Telebabad after “Sahaya”. It will be recalled that he first appeared with ABS-CBN for a while as part of the all male group called Cover Boys on ‘ASAP’.
“I’d really like to thank GMA-7 for this great opportunity to do a show with them,” says Clint during the presscon while trying his best to speak in Tagalog. “Nakapasok ako sa GMA-7 dahil sa ‘Dear Uge’ episode which I did with Jennylyn. Dahil sa experience ko as a guest sa ‘Dear Uge’, nag-dream akong kunin ako ng GMA at heto nga, I’m paired with Jennylyn now in ‘Love You Two’ kaya masayang-masaya ako. Most of my scenes are with Jennylyn and I’m glad kasi mabait siya. Very easy to work with, always smiling on the set. She understands baguhan lang ako sa acting so she’s very patient with me in our scenes together. So thanks to GMA and to Jennylyn for this chance of working with them.”
The pilot episode of the new show was shown to the press during the presscon and in fairness to Clint, he shows great star quality and dynamic screen presence in his scenes with Jennylyn. He plays Jen’s boyfriend for eight years. He has proposed marriage to her for three times but she always rejects him. But now, Jen is ready to accept him and when they go out on a date, she expects she’d propose to her again but it turns he’s about to dump her as he now has other plans in life.
A lot of press people want to interview him one-on-one after the general Q&A portion of the presscon but Clint quickly left, obviously avoiding to be asked about the video of him that went viral while on a date with another woman who he was seen kissing in a bar. In another interview, he denied it was him, saying he doesn’t go to bars because he doesn’t drink at all.
