BIANCA UMALI is transformed from being a plain and shy provinciana Badjaw maiden to a modern sexy city girl in the new episodes of “Sahaya”. “Marami talagang pasasabog na mangyayari sa ‘Sahaya’ this week kaya dapat tutukan ng viewers dahil very exciting ito,” she says.
“Sana po abangan ng viewers kung paano magbabago si Sahaya. Kung gaano ka-drastic ang change na mangyayari sa katauhan niya.”
She says “Sahaya” is totally different from any other show she has done in the past. “Actually, this is my first show and the first character I portrayed na may ganito kadaming layers. Kami ni Direk Zig Dulay, binubusisi namin ang lahat ng eksena kasi inaalagaan namin yung character ni Sahaya. Sabi po ni Direk, excited siyang malaman kung ano ang magiging reaction ng viewers sa malaking pagbabago ni Sahaya in the show, kaya sana, abangan ng viewers what will happen to me.”
Bianca is really so busy these days. Aside from “Sahaya”, she’s also in the cast of two new movies: “Family History” with GMA Pictures and the horror flick “Banal” with APT Entertainment.
“Yung pong ‘Banal’, tapos na ang shoot, may playdate na nga sa end of the month. Yung ‘Family History’, sinu-shoot pa lang, so lagari po ako sa taping ng ‘Sahaya’ na ang layo ng set namin in Calatagan, Batangas, and sa shooting ng ‘Family History’ dito sa Manila.”
What’s her role in ‘Family History’? “Ako po si Jenna at anak po ako nina Ina Feleo and John Estrada. Girlfriend ako ni Miguel Tanfelix na anak naman nina Dawn Zulueta and Michael V. Multi-tasking po rito si Kuya Michael V kasi siya rin ang writer, producer at director ng movie. Nakakatuwa siyang panoorin sa set kasi his energy is really so amazing.”
She’s always playing Miguel’s girlfriend both on the small and big screen. How about in real life? “We have developed a deep friendship through the years. Hindi naman surprising kasi sabay kaming lumaki. We both started as child stars then, 12 pa lang kami, we were paired na in ‘Kuwento ni Mariposa’, tapos tuloy-tuloy na. But never kaming umabot sa pagiging boyfriend-girlfriend kasi pareho kaming mas priority ang trabaho at pag-aaral namin.”
How about now that they’re older since she’s 19 and Miguel is 20? “Now, we’ve become more mature, mas malawak na ang tingin naming sa mga bagay-bagay and we’re very close na we can confide each other’s problems sa isa’t isa. Pero hanggang doon na lang muna po.”
