LPG company South Pacific Inc., (SPI) recently signed up Wanhua
Chemical Group as its new supplier to ensure reliability of supplies
in the country’s biggest LPG facility. Present during the contract
signing were SPI Founder Rep. Arnel Ty, Wanhua Petrochemical (Yantai)
Co., Ltd.’s General Manager Li Yong and SPI President Jun Golingay.
Wanhua Chemical, is considered as the most competitive MDI producer in
the world and the biggest TDI supplier in Europe. It currently
operates on a world-scale advanced complete C3/C4 petrochemical
industrial chain with an increasing presence in LPG trading. SPI
currently ranks third in market share with 14% and has the biggest LPG
storage facility in the Philippines. It is aggressively targeting
bigger revenues through the planned construction of seven more plants
is southern Philippines following its newly opened Mandaue terminal.
South Pacific Inc., a 100% Filipino-owned LPG company recently inked a deal with a new supplier Wanhua Chemical Group in a move to ensure continuous and reliable supply of LPG and adequately serve its growing markets.
Already cornering more than 14% market share, or a third of the Philippine’s LPG market of 1.7 milion metric tons in just three years in the industry, SPI is aggressively accelerating growth through reliable supply and competitive pricing to its customer base.

Wanhua Chemical, is considered as the most competitive MDI producer in the world and the biggest TDI supplier in Europe. It currently operates on a world-scale advanced complete C3/C4 petrochemical industrial chain with an increasing presence in LPG trading. The company has four integrated manufacturing bases globally and more than 10 subsidiaries or branches in Europe, Middle-east, America, Japan, Russia, and India, and others. The Wanhua Group has been repeatedly cited for its products’ quality, commercial value, delivery, documentation, innovation, responsiveness and sustainability.
SPI is confident that Wanhua can adequately supply its LPG needs. Currently, SPI boasts of the biggest LPG storage facility in the country situated in Calaca, Batangas. It recently opened another plant in Mandaue, Cebu province, the first of its planned seven terminals in the VisMin area. SPI President Golingay is optimistic that a surge of business will be generated with the opening of SPI’s new plants in Southern Philippines.
SPI’s Arnel Ty on the other hand assures that SPI will continue to improve on its logistics to better serve the company’s growing roster of clients. The choice of Wanhua is also seen to increase its sales in the Visayas-Mindanao area.
