HEART EVANGELISTA says doing an international action movie in China is an unforgettable experience for her. “First time ko gumawa ng ganitong action and I accepted it kasi you only live once, di ba?” she says at the presscon launching her as endorser of Thiocell glutathione lozenges. “I really prepared for it by exercising every morning.
"It’s very tiring, lalo na nga as much as possible, they want you to do your own stunts. Nasugatan ako sa bubog or broken glass once, iniyakan ko at sabi ko ‘Ano ba itong pinasok ko?’ But when I saw the scenes I did for the movie, it’s very rewarding naman. Sobrang iba ang experience ko rito. Nakakapagod but I’m satisfied sa trabaho ko.”
Since she’s doing action, what about her plans to have a baby again after she had a miscarriage? “I’m not in a rush. Honestly, I was traumatized by what happened to me. It was such a shock. I felt I was being tested by God. But so many good things also started to happen.
"So my husband and I decided it’s better to just embrace what is happening now. He won as Sorsogon governor at ako naman, ang daming trabaho na ayoko namang tanggihan and I also signed up for new work na imposible kong magawa if I’d get pregnant. Maybe next year, kapag wala nang pressure, we’ll try again.
"But as it is, I’m very happy now kasi we have two kids naman at home (the twins of Sen. Chiz from his first marriage). Whatever God gives me now, I don’t want to question. I’m just content and thankful. Pero kung bibigyan Niya uli kami ng baby, di ibibigay Niya. salamat and that would be just perfect.”
Would she try in vitro fertilization? “I don’t think I need it. I have a checkup every two months and my doctor said, okay naman ako. I don’t have qualms about resorting to alternatives but my doctor assured me I don’t need it.”
Heart was luminously beautiful at the Thiocell launch and she says the secret of her radiant clear skin is Thiocell. “I take it everyday and it really helps boost my immune system that gives one that inner glow. When I endorse a product, you can be sure I’m using it myself and I’ve been using it since early last year pa.
"What I like about Thiocell is that it’s in lozenge form and you don’t have to take it like a pill that will have to go through your digestive system. You just let it melt in your mouth and the membranes in your mouth absorb it more quickly and effectively. You’ll see its positive effects in just two weeks.”
The chief operating officer, Tenambhat Rameash, of the Thiocell Brady Pharma, says their company had a long meeting to brainstorm as to who they’ll get as endorser and they all chose Heart. “She’s the total package of an empowered woman,” he adds. “She’s a classic beauty who’s obviously very comfortable in her own skin.
"She’s an accomplished actress who’s now doing an international movie. She’s also a successful artist with hit art shows, a businesswoman, a fashion icon and a globetrotter. Just perfect for Thiocell which is now available in all Watsons and Mercury Drug outlets nationwide and also online through Lazada and Beauty MNL.”
Heart is also active with PAWS which advocates protection and safety of animals. She plans to put up her own animal shelter in Sorsogon. “It’s a very special project for me and I will ask the help of other agencies and interested groups that have the same advocacy. It’ll be just one of my projects in Sorsogon as I have many other plans to help its people when my husband assumes his position as governor.”
She’s also getting good feedback as a judge in Starstruck Season 7. “Nakakatuwa kasi noong una, kinakabahan talaga ako. But I’m glad the feedback is encouraging so far and I’m having a good time with my co-judges (Cherie Gil and Jose Manalo). The ratings are also very high and the artista hopefuls are good, so we’re happy that we’re doing okay.”
