STARTING THIS MONDAY NIGHT, you can watch online all the auditions and exclusive interviews with Starstruck hopefuls on the “Inside Starstruck” youtube channel. All the episode highlights and behind-the-scene footage will be available for you to watch and review at your own convenience.
Kyline Alcantara is very happy and proud that she’s the one chosen to host the said online show where the Top 22 candidates will be revealed. So subscribe right away at the show’s youtube channel for you to always get the latest updates about the latest happenings among the Starstruck contestants.
Meantime, the hosts of the latest edition of “Starstruck”, along with the members of the council of jurors and mentors, are all excited to meet the new crop of showbiz hopefuls. “As the show’s host through the years, I’ve seen the amazing growth, the evolution of those who’ve joined it, especially those who won,” says Dingdong Dantes. “I’m sure this new edition will produce more newcomers with topnotch star quality to be the new Kapuso idols of today’s generation.”
Co-host Jennylyn Mercado is the most successful recruit of Starstruck. Her career has really blossomed since she won as the female ultimate survivor in the very first Starstruck in 2003. Now, 16 years later, she’s successful not only on television but has also made hit movies where she even won acting awards.
“I’m excited kasi dati, ako yung contestant, then naging judge din ako, and now, I’m one of the hosts,” she says. “I’m thrilled to personally witness the journey of each of the selected candidates and I’m sure the viewers will also enjoy each episode of this tried and test Kapuso Artista Search.”
The three judges-mentors are Heart Evangelista, Cherie Gil and Jose Manalo.
“Sa totoo lang, I’m quite nervous,” says Heart. “This is the first time for me to be a judge and I’m a real softie, so I really don’t know how I can reject any of the contestants come elimination time. Pero kahit malambot ang puso ko, pipilitin ko to be fair and square to all as a judge.”
As for Cherie Gil, considered to be the country’s Primera Contravida who can be very tough and exacting as a judge, she promises not to be just “mataray” but also understanding. “I would try my best to be positive as possible in the way I deal with the contestants,” she says. “Kasi, kapag sobrang nega ka, it can be discouraging sa mga baguhan, lalo na nga’t they’re young and inexperienced.”
As for Jose Manalo, he promises to be the comic relief when the situation in the show gets very tense. “Ako rin ang maghahanap ng may potential sa comedy,” he adds. “Kasi hindi naman lahat ng papasok dito, gusto lang maging drama actor or actress. So ako yung maghahanap sa kanila ng possible na komedyante.”
