ARE DEREK RAMSAY and Andrea Torres now really playing beautiful music together not only on cam as partners in “The Better Woman” but also off cam? This is the question in the minds of people (sila na ba?) when they were seen leaving together recently for a weekend in Shanghai.
At first, people thought they’d just shoot a scene there for their hit primetime show, but it turns out Derek just asked Andrea to accompany him while he’s joining a frisbee competition in China. Yes, the role of Andrea in that trip is just to be his inspiration and personal cheer leader while he competes! And she willingly obliged, which means he’s something special to her, right?
As one writer asked: “Nagka-developan na ba sila while they’re doing all those steamy love scenes that they regularly do in ‘The Better Woman’?”
But as we remember, Derek himself said at the presscon then of ‘The Better Woman’: “Wala namang masama kung may ma-develop sa amin kasi pareho naman kaming single.” As we all know, he has called it quits with 6-year girlfriend Joanne Villablanca while Andrea has been unattached for three years now.
And as another writer opines: “You can’t blame Derek for falling for Andrea kasi sobrang sexy niya talaga ngayon. Kitang-kita ang ebidensiya sa mga eksena niya sa ‘Better Woman’ na halos nakaluwa na ang mayamang dibdib niya sa halos bawat eksena. Wala naman sigurong kokontra if Derek would really find Andrea the better woman for him not only in the show but also in real life.”
Meantime, the series starts to heat up more intensely as the rivalry between the twin sisters become even more pronounced. Juliet, the elder of the twins, is so obviously in love with Derek as Andrew, who is already married to Jasmine and she’s determined to seduce him by asking him to teach her how to surf.
Juliet is apparently envious of Jasmine’s status who she says is so fortunate in having a good career, a good life and a good husband like Andrew, unlike her who grew up in poverty. Paolo Paraiso, Andrew’s best friend, volunteers to teach Juliet how to surf as he was even trained in Australia, but she rejects him, saying: “Sorry, hindi kita type.” It’s evident she has set her sights on Andrew and wouldn’t settle for anyone else, even if Andrew is already very much married to her sister.
