IYA VILLANIA is flattered that she’s been tapped to be the new co-host of Camille Prats in GMA-7’s new morning show, “Mars Pa More”. The show used to be known as “Mars” (for Mare), a lifestyle talk show scheduled in the early evening slot on GMA News TV, with Suzi Entrata as the co-host. It’s been on for seven years now. But Suzi is already in another morning show, “Unang Hirit”, so she’s being replaced by Iya. It will start airing on July 8.
Iya says it’s really been her dream to host a lifestyle show like “Mars Pa More”. “Malaking pressure sa’kin to replace Suzi because she and Camille are so identified with ‘Mars’,” she says. “Actually, I have mixed feelings. Siempre, I’m happy they chose me to be the new co-host of Camille, but nalungkot din ako at kinakabahan kasi ‘Mars’ is so identified with Camille and Suzi.
"Nag-usap kami ni Suzi about this even before I learned akong ipapalit sa kanya. She said, ililipat nga sa morning ang ‘Mars’ but hindi na siya puede because she’s also in ‘Unang Hirit’. She even told me, Baka ikaw ang ipapalit sa akin. I think she’s joking pero nagkatotoo nga. Two weeks after we’ve talked, management had a meeting with me and said ako nga ang napili nila. I never really thought na mapipili akong co-host ni Camille.
"I talked to Suzi again after that and she said she’s happy for me na ako yung nakuhang kapalit niya. She even wished me good luck on my first taping day with Camille. So I felt peaceful after that. At least, walang masama ang loob sa’kin and no one can accuse me na inagaw ko yung show sa kanya.”
“Mars Pa More” will have fun-filled segments like family-friendly games, interesting crafts, musical numbers, trends in social media, all sure to bring mothers and their kids closer to each other. It will introduce new kid stars who can sing, dance and even cook, to help spread good vibes with Camille and Iya.
