JANELLA SALVADOR says she’s so happy to be part of the new Kapamilya soap, “The Killer Bride”.
“This is a big blessing for me kasi my last soap was two years ago pa,” she adds. “I went through a rough patch in my career and I was asking myself, what will I do next? And then ‘The Killer Bride’ came and I’m really glad because ang ganda na ng story, ang ganda pa ng role ko and it’s really very challenging.”
Her ex-BF Elmo Magalona is now definitely a thing of the past and she’s happy to be paired this time with Joshua Garcia. “Actually, they’ve tried to pair with each other several time, pero laging nauudlot. First time was in ‘Kung Kailangan Mo Ako’, but hindi natuloy yun kasi he did ‘The Good Son’ and I was given another soap. Then in the movie, ‘Vince, Kath & James’, na hindi rin natuloy.
"But I guess this is the right time and the right project for us. I’m excited to work with him now as we’ve both matured a bit and mas mature din ang roles namin dito. I play Emma, the new girl in town who works as a make up artist in a funeral parlor. Hindi ko alam, unti-unti pala akong napo-possessed ni Maja Salvador as ‘The Killer Bride’.”
And both of them are now currently unattached and nursing a broken heart, since we all know Joshua has also called it quits with Julia Barretto. Janella’s love team with Elmo was called ElNella and that of Joshua with Julia was JoshLia.
Now, some fans are calling their new love team as JoshNella. Let’s see if it would click once they are seen together in ‘The Killer Bride’.
“It’s all up to the viewers if they’d support us and our show,” says Janella. “But I’m really happy to get the chance to work with Josh as I’ve seen his work before at magaling siya. I really welcome the chance to work with different people as it’s healthy and it gives you the chance to grow.
"Like here in ‘Killer Bride’, marami sa co-stars namin dito, ngayon ko lang makakasama, led by Maja Salvador, and I know it’ll be a great learning experience for me working with them at marami akong matututuhan sa kanila.”
“I’m very happy to work with Janella,” says Maja herself. “I think it’s her time to shine.”
Janella adds that she and Joshua took a sensual workshop to make them feel comfortable with each other.
“Hindi sexual ha, kundi sensual. Parang icebreaker so we’d open up at makapag-bonding kami nang maayos. It helped naman para hindi kami mailang sa isa’t isa and walang feeling of awkwardness at all in our scenes together.”
Is she ready to do kissing scenes with Joshua? “If it’s really needed para sa ikagaganda ng eksena at ng show, why not? That’s why acting is an art. And as actors and actresses, it has to be part of our craft to make the characters we play and the scenes we’re doing to be more convincing.”
