randy santiago, gary valenciano, ogie alcasid and dingdong avanzado hold benefit concert |
KUNDIRANA ALUMNI Ogie Alcasid, Dingdong Avanzado, Randy Santiago and Gary Valenciano will perform all together for the first time in “Green and Go” this Saturday, 8 PM, at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
The Kundirana is the music ministry of La Salle Greenhills and the show is organized by Batch 1984, to which Ogie and Dingdong belong. Randy is with Batch 1979 while Gary is with Batch 1982. The school’s principal during their time was Bro. Gus Boquer, who is now the president of La Salle Dasmarinas in Cavite.
“We learned a lot of good values from Kundirana,” says Ogie. “It instilled in us the importance of training and discipline. Bro. Gus told us to bring joy to others through our music. Our concert is for the benefit of Bro. Gus’ project to help build La Salle Dasmarinas Medical Center, a hospital for the poor and also for La Salle alumni in need of medical treatment. We hope the concert will capture the hearts of the entire La Salle community here and abroad as it’s for a worthy cause.”
The last time the four of them shared the same stage togerther was in the Kundirana reunion concert held at the ULTRA 30 years ago, with other Kundirana alumni. This time they promise to give the audience lots of fun and entertainment.
They’ll be singing their hit songs from the 80s that have stood the test of time and do a lot of surprise numbers, with Mon Faustino (also a Kundirana alumnus) as musical director and Paolo Bustamante as stage director. After the concert, there will be a party with lots of dancing, with the band Route 70 providing the music.
The show is sponsored by FilOil, Insular Oil, USA88, CDO Foodsphere/ San Marino products, Fino Leatherware, Petro Gazz and Brother’s Moustache at Hive Hotel.
