MEGAN YOUNG is the first one to admit that she is not a fan of scary movies and TV shows as she herself gets scared easily, but here she is now making a trendsetting horror-thriller on GMA’s Afternoon Prime, “Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko”.
“Mahina talaga ang loob ko when I watch horror flicks,” she says. “But I’m ready to try something different, so I agreed to do my new assignment from GMA. Nilalakasan ko na lang ang loob ko sa taping. Meron naman kaming paranormal experts sa set to guide us and of course, we pray a lot. Alam ko namang iba kapag ikaw yung actor who’s shooting a scary scene kaysa sa ikaw yung nanonood ng horror show.
"Kakaiba ang story nitong ‘Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko’. May pagka-horror siya with many suspenseful scenes but at the same time, may drama rin and naiibang love story, so I’m sure susubaybayan talaga siya ng viewers every afternoon lalo na’t ngayon lang magkakaroon ng ganitong klase ng nakakatakot na teleserye.
Megan plays the role of Yvie, with Rayver Cruz as her leading man in the role of Matteo. Kris Bernal plays Naomi who is spurned by Rayver who chooses to marry Megan, then mysteriously comes back to wreak havoc on the life of Megan and terrorize even her son, Euwenn Aleta, who doesn’t know he’s getting spooked.
Also in the cast are Kim Domingo as Megan's cousin, Boots Anson Roa as Rayver's grandma, Sharmaine Arnaiz as Megan's mom who has mental ailment and Francine Prieto as Kim's mom, directed by Jorron Monroy, who gets his big break here. He's been a second unit director and this is his debut as a main director.
This will take the place of “Dragon Lady” starting July 22. Megan was last seen in the hit “The Stepdaughters” with her real life beau, Mikael Daez. After the show ended, they had a grand vacation in Europe and spent more time in Belgium and then in Iceland. There was a rumor that they secretly tied the knot while they were there.
“It’s not true,” says the country’s first Miss World title-holder. “Walang ganun. Nag-enjoy kami, lalo sa Iceland kahit sobrang lamig. But no, there’s no secret anything. When we’re ready, we won’t hide it naman. We will announce it as there’s no need to keep it a secret, but as of now, no plans yet talaga. Pareho pa kaming marami pang gustong gawin sa buhay before we start a family.”
While promoting “Hanggang sa Dulo ng Buhay Ko” with Kris Bernal and Kim Domingo, GMA sent Clint Bondad to be with them. Some bashers, who seem to be fans of Catriona Gray, accused Megan of flirting with Clint, as if they didn’t know that Clint and Catriona have broken up sometime ago.
Instead of reacting to the haters, Megan rightfully chose to ignore them. As one writer said, after all, she has nothing to prove as she is the country’s first Miss World winner. Catriona is only the country’s 4th Miss Universe.
