JANNO GIBBS is happy to dub the voice of Eddie Garcia for the last movie that the late Manoy did for Viva Films, “Sanggano Sanggago Sangguwapo”. This is the reunion movie of Janno with Andrew E and Dennis Padilla. The three actors have worked together in other hit comedies in the 1990s like “Mahirap Maging Pogi” and “Si Mokong, Si Astig at is Gamol”.
“May naiwan siyang mga eksena na hindi niya na-dub and I’m just proud and honored to dub it for him,” says Janno. “Nagkatrabaho na kami before sa TV sitcom na ‘Si Manoy at si Mokong’, at sa movie naman, in ‘Mauna Ka, Susunod Ako’. Tuwang-tuwa siya kapag ginagaya ko ang boses niya at hindi ko akalaing magagamit ko pala yun for the last movie he did with us. He’d really be missed in the industry as he’s a true professional, not only as an actor but also as a director.”
Andrew E and Dennis P are thankful to Janno for initiating their reunion movie. After Janno became a Viva contract star anew, he suggested to Boss Vic del Rosario that they revive the old school comedy movies of the 90s and Viva’s top honcho agreed to bankroll their reunion movie. With Viva managing his career, Janno is also revitalizing his singing and recording career.
“Our movie brings back yung comedies na panlalaki na very popular noong araw,” says Janno, who looks more energized these days and no longer feeling depressed. “Matagal nang walang ganitong comedy kasi comedies today cater mostly to women and the family.
"Ito, medyo pilyo in nature, and we also inject some new kind of humor to bring our kind of comedy to today’s new audiences. Sa social media, I can see from the comments of people na they also miss this kind of comedy na medyo naughty ang dating.”
In “Sanggano, Sanggago, Sangguwapo”, the three of them are paired with three sexy ladies. Janno is paired with former beauty queen Cindy Miranda. Dennis P’s leading lady is Vanessa Wright while that of Andrew E is Louise de los Reyes.
Supporting them in the movie are Julian Trono, Vitto Marquez, Andrew Muhlach, Debbie Garcia, Zarah Tolentino, Katya Santos, Samantha Page and Jourdanne Castillo. The movie is directed by Al Tantay who also helmed their comedy movies with Viva Films before.
