MAKE WAY FOR VIVA contract artist and upcoming star Stacey Gabriel who has been getting a lot of good feedback from her recent acting gigs, especially her three-month stint on the long-running ABS-CBN soap, “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
Stacey, who auditioned for the role, was handpicked by the show’s star and director Coco Martin. She then went on to play a role that challenged her to the next level because of its intensity and physical demands. And it looks like all the good reviews she got for her role in “Ang Probinsyano” more than made up for all of it.
Stacey played the role of Master Sgt. Tricia Almario, a member of the crime-fighting group Task Force Agila. There, she got to act opposite Cardo, Coco’s character, quite a lot. Master Sgt. Tricia, however, suffered a gruesome fate at the hands of villain Bungo (played by Baron Geisler) who abducted and tortured her, had her drugged, and subsequently raped her.
She was one of the Task Force Agila women who was rescued by Cardo. She, however, decided to take a leave of absence from the police force to heal from the traumatic events — a small detail that observers say may be Stacey’s ticket to resurrect on the show in the future, given the good words said of her as an aftermath of her outstanding performance.
Stacey says of her experience on the show, “It was an unforgettable one. My acting abilities were brought to new levels because of the intensity of the scenes, especially throughout the abduction storyline, and I could feel myself growing not only as an actress, but also as a human.”
“Ibang klaseng fulfilment and naramdaman ko pagkatapos kong maipakita ang aking kakayanan sa pag-arte. This is really my passion. Matagal kong pinangarap at pinagdasal na makabilang sa ‘Ang Probinsyano’ kaya sobra kong pinahalagahan ang bawat sandali bilang si Master Sgt.Tricia Almario,” she said.
Stacey also expressed so much gratitude to Coco Martin for making her dream come true. “None of this would’ve been possible if it weren’t for Direk Coco, and I’m grateful to him for casting me and giving me the honor to work with and learn from him. I’ve always admired him as an actor, but I became an even bigger fan when I witnessed what a good, grounded, generous human he is. “
Always a student of acting, Stacey treasures the experience of acting opposite formidable personalities in “Ang Probinsyano.” She said, “I’m so lucky I’ll always have fond memories with the amazing Task Force Agila cast. May mga pagkakataon na hindi ako makapaniwala na ito ang kalibre ng mga aktor na nakakatrabaho ko. Nakakataba ng puso ang pagkakataong maging kasangga ni Cardo at maging miyembro ng Task Force Agila.”
Her co-stars on the show couldn’t help but notice Stacey’s deep commitment to her craft, and they attest to this devotion, noting how dedicated she is on set — always eager to learn and never taking any moment for granted.
Stacey ends, “This experience has left me even hungrier and more passionate about the arts, bringing characters to life, and telling stories that enable humans to connect. I’m so excited for what God has in store for me, and I’m ready to take on the next role, whatever it may be.”
