GINA ALAJAR is back as a director after the hit primetime soap, “Onanay”. This time she will be honing the talents of the three tween stars who play the title roles in “Prima Donnas”: Jillian Ward, Althea Ablan and Sofia Pablo.
The three tween stars get their biggest break in this Afternoon Prime show that will replace “Bihag” of Max Collins which ends this Firday. They will play triplets who are so different from each other when it comes to character traits.
Jillian plays the eldest child, Donna Marie, and as their Ate, she is very responsible and expected to take good care of her younger sisters. Althea plays Donna Belle, the most ambitious and aggressive among them and acts like a princess. She is willing to take risks and even do something wrong just to be able to help their family.
Sofia is the youngest as Donna Lynn, the youngest sister and also the one who is sickly. Despite her being physically weak, she is ready to sacrifice everything for their family and acts as a referee when her two sisters are fighting.
In the story, Wendell Ramos and Glaiza de Castro cannot have their own children, so they got Katrina Halili as Lilian to be their surrogate mother. It turns out Katrina gets pregnant with not just one but three babies, who become the Prima Donnas.
But because of the machinations of Aiko Melendez, the three sisters get separated from each other and sufferr various hardships when the truth is that their grandma, Chanda Romero, is very rich but has no inkling that she actually has three pretty grandchildren.
