MIGO ADEDER made quite an impression as Jordan in the recently conluded series, “Sahaya”, and most writers who attended the presscon of “Black Lipstick”, where he plays one of the leading man of Kyline Alcantara, believe that he has all the potential to be a top leading man. But some of them also say someone should advise him on how to behave in front of the press.

Maybe Director Zig Dulay with whom he is now doing a new show can serve as his personal counselor on this matter. Most writers find him quite cocky. We all know he grew up in Australia so he speaks in English. But he should make an effort to communicate more fluently in Pilipino. As one writer says: “Kahit tina-Tagalog mo na, Ingles pa rin nang Ingles.”

The film is about a girl with a skin problem called vitiligo. During the presscon, someone asked the cast if they approve of resorting to “retoke” to improve one’s looks and Migo vehemently objected, saying we should be satisfied with what God gave us. The other leading man in the movie, Manolo Pedroza, expressed a contrary opinion, saying we should respect anyone who resorts to science as it’s their own prerogative, endearing himself to the press.

We just notice that Manolo looks so good and personable in person but this does not translate well on the big screen. He should get a stylist or make up artist who will help enhance his good looks for him to have incandescent star quality not only in person but also on screen. We then ask both Migo and Manolo how is it working with Kyline in “Black Lipstick”.

Migo says: “I’ve worked with Kyline in ‘Studio 7’ and she can be so makulit, annoying, but here in ‘Black Lipstick’ she’s in one of her finest moments. She’s very professional, she gets her work done, she knows her craft.”

Manolo says: “We’ve worked together in ‘Inagaw na Bituin’, so maganda ang aming working relationship. We enjoyed shooting ‘Black Lipstick’ and we bonded well. I saw her passion when it comes to her work and she’s really very hardworking. She deserves this launching film.”

Migo is also asked about his brush with the law last March when traffic enforcers apprehended him for his involvement in a minor accident that caused him to be detained in a police station. How is he after that?

“I’ve moved on,” he says. “It was all a big misunderstanding and a lot of information was not shared with the press. There was a language barrier and it’s quite frustrating for me not to get my point across. But it’s better to just let it go. Okay na, e. What matters is nobody was really hurt. It’s a life lesson for me that somehow made me stronger. My driving license was revoked and I have to wait for two years before I can renew it.”
