OGIE ALCASID is excited with his coming concert “Ogie and the Hurados” at Resorts World Manila on October 10 where he will be doing production numbers with topnotch ‘Tawag ng Tanghalan’ judges Zsa Zsa Padilla, Randy Santiago, Karla Estrada, Jed Madela, K Brosas, Karylle and Rey Valera. This is the first time all of them are sharing the same stage together in a one-night only memorable evening of fun and great music.
“Lahat sila, kilala bilang judge sa ‘It’s Showtime’ at ngayon lang sila magkakasama to perform together kaya naiiba talaga at natatangi ang concert na ito,” says Ogie. “I will be doing many song numbers with all of them, then each of them will also have solo numbers, so it’s going to be a long show, pero I assure everyone na mage-enjoy kayo as there will never be a dull moment, sa cheerful banter pa lang among us.”
Ogie is also the featured actor in this Saturday’s episode of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” where he’ll play the role of a father of four kids, Carlo. “Ayoko sanang gawin kasi nahihirapan akong magdrama,” he says. “But business unit Ruel Bayani saw me and personally requested me to do it, so ayun, nag-enjoy naman ako.”
Ogie doesn’t mind playing father roles. “E, totoong father na naman ako in real life,” he quips. “My eldest, Leila, is now 22 years old then there’s Sarah and Nate, and I really love being the tatay to all of them.”
Leila is with him and now has a boyfriend, Mito Fabie also known as the indie rapper-songwriter Curtismith. “One year na sila and I like him. They belong to the same church and he’s a good influence to my daughter. We get along fine and one time nga, niyaya kong mag-inuman. Scotch. E, mahina palang uminom. Sabi raw kay Leila, he got so drunk. He’s 26 and tall at 5’10”. Even Michelle (Van Eimeren, Leila’s mom) likes him.”
Ogie and Regine now have their own vlog and they are building up their own loyal subscribers on youtube. “We want to experience it and we have our own team to help us to produce the episodes we put up on the vlog. Leila and Nate now also have their own vlogs. It’s all in the family.”
Will he have a new movie after “Kuya Wes” where he won the Star best actor award? “Hindi muna. What I’m busy with is the stage musical we’re doing with more than 20 of my songs in it. Five of them are new original compositions. Baka next year na ito. And right now, my full attention is with ‘Ogie and the Hurados’. Puro magagaling ang mga kasama ko rito and I promise the audience will give them one memorable show.”
