RITA DANIELA credits no one else but the Lord for all the good things happening in her career right now. She’s seen Monday to Friday in the GMA primetime romcom, “One of the Baes”, which is rating very well, and on Saturday and Sunday, she’s seen as a host who chronicles the journeys of the contestants in the singing competition, ‘The Clash Season 2’.

“I never thought ‘yung ‘Special Tatay’ will make the big  difference in my career,” she says. “To think dalawang beses ko yung tinanggihan kasi ayoko ng magkontrabida at pokpok pa yung role na magiging unwed mother pa ako. But eventually, I was convinced to accept it, sabi ko anyway, hindi naman magtatagal ang show.

"But who would have thought na magugustuhan ng tao ang role ko as Aubrey at magki-click ang tandem namin ni Ken Chan kaya inabot ito ng seven months sa ere. Salamat kay God at sa lahat ng viewers na sumuporta sa amin. Ayan ngayon, nabigyan kami ng lead roles on primetime sa ‘One of the Baes’ at tapos, hosts pa kami ng ‘The Clash Season 2’. Grabeng blessings talaga ang dumating!”

She considers “One of the Baes” as another great blessing. “Grabe ang reception sa show, lalo na sa pagko-comedy ni Popsie Roderick Paulate. Na-miss talaga siya ng viewers. At dahil beterano na siya, he’s a big help to us ni Ken and shares a wealth of his experiences with us. Grabe rin ang chance for me to work with Ms. Amy Austria. Very generous siya.”

Hosting “The Clash 2” makes her feel nostalgic. “Kasi sa singing contest din ako galing. I was 10 years old when I joined Popstar Kids and when I see the clashers now, I remember the time when I was a contestant na naghihintay na tawagin sa dressing room.”

How does she find the current crop of contestants in “The Clash 2”? “Maraming magaling. Lagi kong sinasabi sa kanila, just believe in yourself and what you’re capable of doing. Yung mga natatanggal, siempre nakakalungkot, but I tell them not to lose hope. Laban lang nang laban!”

Don’t miss “The Clash” this Saturday night as Round 2 Laban kung Laban  lives up to its name! It will be a jam-packed episode with no less than 5 nerve-wracking musical face-offs! The Cool Rocker challenges the Musical Stage Heavyweight! The Diva from Dubai goes toe to toe with the Rock and Roller from Cavite.

The Singing Beauty Queen fights it out with the Soul Sister from the South.  The Mangyan Crooner squares off with the Power Belter from Laguna. The Journeyman from Cebu dukes it out with Vocal Stylist from ParaƱaque.

Will the white team continue their domination over the black team? Will the beleaguered black team use their Clasher Save? Nonstop excitement, mind-blowing twists, and first rate vocal performances await you this weekend.

On Sunday, Expect an all-out biritan  between Allina Barretto and Louise Alivio. Zaddi Ruaza and Sassa Dagdag sing their hearts out in an exciting match. Lorraine Galvez and Angel Ram will belt it all out just to have a spot on the Top 16. And 2 clashers will be given a chance to return in the competition during a Wildcard Clash!

And on Sunday night, the next twist of the season as will be revealed as they begin the 3rd round of the competition, Pares kontra Pares ! All that and more on this exciting and intense Sunday night episode of The Clash, isa laban sa lahat!
