KLEA PINEDA won as Ultimate Female Survivor in Starstruck 6 in 2015. She was then cast in the “Encantadia” remake and did other supporting roles. In “Ika-5 Utos” last year, she was paired with Jeric Gonzales and their tandem seems to be well accepted by viewers so now they’re paired anew playing lead roles in “Magkaagaw”. So how is it working with Jeric again?
“When we did ‘Ika-5 Utos’, we were not really that close with each other,” she says. “But dito sa ‘Magkaagaw’, we became more comfortable with each other kasi hindi lang kami sa taping madalas magkasama kundi pati sa regional promos sa iba’t ibang cities around the country.
"We got to know each other better. We play husband and wife in ‘Magkaagaw’ so may love scenes kami and he’s such a gentleman. Talagang inaalalayan niya ko kasi first time ko to do such scenes. Tinatanong muna niya kung ano ang okay sa akin at ano ang hindi.”
So, is it possible for them to develop feelings for each other while they’re doing “Magkaagaw”? “Puede siguro, bakit hindi? Anything naman is possible. I’m single but I don’t know about him kung single din siya. First time kong nakipag-kissing scene at siya talaga ang unang nakahalik sa lips ko.”
But how about the rumors that questions her feminity after she supported the LGBT community in a rally? “I’m aware of that. Pero hindi naman dahil I support my gay friends, gay na rin ako. I know myself and I know po na girl na girl ako at hindi girl din ang gusto ko. Boys pa rin ang type ko. But ever since naman kasi, hindi talaga ako pa-girly. Comfortable na ako sa jeans and shirts. Ang hobbies ko, pang-boys, like motorbikes, car racing, kasi I find them more challenging. Jeric knows about that kasi mahilig din siya sa bikes kaya nagkasundo kami. But he never questioned yung gender ko just because of that.”
But everyone also agrees that she’s pefect beauty queen material since she’s not only lovely but also tall and articulate.
“Dream ko talaga maging beauty queen at dapat, magte-training na ako to join a beauty pageant this year. But heto nga, dumating itong ‘Magkaagaw’ and it’s such a big project so alangan namang I just let go of the opportunity. Anyway, I’m just 20 years old so puede pang i-postpone yan and it will give more time to gain more experiences in life and broaden my horizons before I join a pageant.
"But as of now, nakatutok muna ako rito sa ‘Magkaagaw’ na sana po, suportahan ng afternoon viewers dahil magsisimula na kami sa Monday at mapapanood kami right after ‘Eat Bulaga’ hanggang sa Saturday, We promise to give you a great show.
"Anak po ako rito ni Ms. Sunshine Dizon at ang asawa kong si Jeric, aagawin sa akin ni Ms. Sheryl Cruz sa nais niyang maghiganti sa mommy ko na ang feeling niya, inagaw rin ang mister niya noon, played by Rep. Alfred Vargas. Marami pong twists and turns ang kuwento na tiyak na magugustuhan ng afternoon viewers so tutok na po kayo.”
