AIKO MELENDEZ has gained a lot of haters because of her contravida role as Kendra who maltreats three orphan girls in GMA-7’s hit afternoon drama, “Primadonnas”.
“I know maraming naiinis sa’kin dun,” she says. “Just like when I played Emilia before sa ‘Wildflower’na andami ko ring haters. But then again, I want to remind the viewers that I’m just playing a role po, so magalit kayo kay Kendra pero sana, huwag kay Aiko, please.”
Aiko has just been tapped by F2N Fortune Marketing to endorse their Theobroma Superfood products available in Powdered Cocoa, Coffee Mix, Juice and also as beauty bar soap.
Theobroma executives Benilda Vinuya, Josephine Roxas and Ana Lisa Jambalos said they got Aiko to be their ambassador after they found out that she’s really buying their products.

Meantime, Aiko was asked at her launch as Theobroma ambassador if she knew that her ex-husband Jomari Yllana has just been denounced by his current partner, Joy Reyes, for abandoning her and their two kids.
The first one is aged one year old plus and the other, only a few months old. Joy alleged that Jomari has found another woman and is now asking him to give regular financial help for their kids.
“I also just read about it and I don’t think I’m in a position to make any comment,” she says. “May karelasyon din ako ngayon, Zambales Vice Governor Jay Khonghun, and my prayer is sana, anuman ang problema, maayos nila kasi may mga batang involved.
"Kahit anupang sabihin, Jomari is the father of my son, Andre, who’s now 21, and although we’re not really in good terms, I still wish they can settle this privately. Kasi I’m a mother too, at sana maibigay naman sa mga bata kung ano ang nararapat para sa kanila.”
Aiko also has a daughter, Martena, with former actor Martin Jickain, but she’d rather not talk about the dads of her two kids.
“Whatever it is that it’s in my heart about them, hayaan na lang natin doon because I will never speak ill of the fathers of my kids. I don’t want them to grow up na may sama ng loob sa mga ama nila.
"And I think that’s the reason why I am so blessed. Kasi ako, kung may kusa, di maraming salamat. Never akong namilit kasi I continue to work hard on my own to avoid these kind of issues.
"And I have to thank God kasi He is so good naman and continues to bless me with more jobs so I can give my kids what is best for them.
"There is no room for hatred in my heart kasi nga hindi naman ako pinababayaan ni Lord. I will just continue to pray for Jomari and Joy na sana, maayos nila ang lahat sa mabuting paraan for the sake of their two children.”
