ANGELICA PANGANIBAN says Bea Alonzo is definitely one of her closest friends in showbiz right now, but she admits there was a time they had a falling out due to some misunderstanding they no longer want to mention.
“Nangyayari naman talaga yun sa mga magkaibigan,” she adds. “Nagkakaroon ng tampuhan, inisan, pero dahil sa movie naming ‘Unbreakable’, we’ve become closer than ever. Parang biglang naayos anuman yung naging samaan namin ng loob. So when they asked if we want to do a movie together, ayun, parang walang nangyari. Naging bukas kami sa isa’t isa dahil pareho kaming may pinagdaanan.”
Bea had a controversial breakup with Gerald Anderson while Angelica felt bad when Carlo Aquino made her feel that they’re reconciling after they did a movie together, but it didn’t happen.
“Malaking bagay na we both went through some pain, mas naka-relate kami sa isa’t isa at naging mas well bonded kami. Parang sharing notes. Dahil doon, masasabi naming mas lumalim ang pagkakaibigan namin kaysa noong mga bata pa kami. Hindi na basta kulitan lang o harutan o nagpi-pictorial sa garden na magaganda ang background. Talagang pinagsama siguro kami ng tadhana ngayon dahil alam niyang mas matutulungan namin ang isa’t isa.”
They now plan to go out together, have out of town vacations together. “Ang dami na naming naplano pero walang natutuloy kasi walang oras. We’re busy shooting the movie, tapos may promo pa. Nag-out of the country na nga kami sa mga usapan namin. Pero I’m sure, one of these days, matutuloy rin yan.”
In “Unbreakable”, which opens in theaters this Wednesday, Angelica plays Deena. “She’s a people-pleaser. Laging dependent sa ibang mga tao, looking for love and attention. Best friend ko si Bea as Mariel since our college days.
"Marami na kaming pinagdaanan, then something happens that will test the strength of our relationship. Lahat naman tayo, may friends na one time or another, nakasamaan natin ng loob. So for sure, maraming makaka-relate dito.”
Is she now ready to fall in love again?
“Naku, magpapahinga muna ako. Basta ang importante, you just maintain faith and hope in your heart. Kung nasaktan ka ng isang tao, hindi naman ibig sabihin noon, everyone is bad. Just accept na anuman yung pinagdaraanan mo, kailangan mo yun para maging mas matibay ka, para maging unbreakable ka.”
