JANELLA SALVADOR has obviously moved on from her traumatic experience with her last relationship. After all, she has a hit TV soap, “Killer Bride”, and her new new movie, “The Heiress”, where she plays the title role, is opening in theaters today. It’s said someone is making her happy and smile a lot this days, Kapamilya actor Markus Paterson. Is it true?
“Yes, I admit na napapasaya naman niya ako,” she says at the jampacked premiere night of "The Heiress" at SM MEgamall. “But at this point, I just don’t want to share a lot about him. When you see us going out together, basta alam nyo na yun. Before, I was very open and it didn’t do me any good, so I’m just more careful this time.”
Well, it’s obvious something serious is going on betweem them as Markus has already introduced her to his family and she was even there when his mom celebrated her recent birthday.
“Na-meet na rin naman niya ang mom ko (Jenine Desiderio) and dad ko (Juan Miguel Salvador), so okay lang, no problem at all,” she says. “Noong last birthday ng dad ko, he was also there to celebrate with us.”
She and ex-BF Elmo Magalona are both Kapamilya stars. What happens when they accidentally bump into each other at the studio?
“Wala, dedma. We really have a small industry and chances are, talagang magkikita at magkikita kayo. And it has happened, pero dedma lang. Wala na naman kaming communication at all. More than a year na yun.”
Did she learn anything from that experience? “Oh yes, it made me wiser and stronger as a person. Mas nag-iingat ka, Maski si Tita Maricel Soriano, she told me while we were shooting ‘The Heiress’, aware kasi siya sa mga pinagdaanan ko, basta be more careful. Be more wise pagdating sa love. Gamitin mo ang isip and not just your heart. And it’s a very smart piece of advice na sinusunod ko naman.”
She really enjoyed doing ‘The Heiress’ with Maricel Soriano. “I was starstruck at first but she turned out be warm and friendly. Kinausap niya ako, kuwentuhan kami, so naging comfortable ako agad sa kanya and when we started using our scenes together, mas relaxed na ako in her company. She plays my Auntie Luna here and ako naman si Guia.
"She’s very controlling at hinihigpitan ako nang sobra. I didn’t know na mambabarang pala kasi siya and she wants me to be her heiress. Ipapamana niya sa akin ang kapangyarihan niya. I enjoyed doing the movie with her at we guarantee na marami kaming tatakutin dito.”
“The Heiress” opens in theaters nationwide this Wednesday.
