JAY MANALO was very candid with his answers during the open forum for the movie, “Love is Love”, where he plays the long time lover of Greta, the gay owner of a resort played by Raymond Bagatsing. When asked who he’d prefer to have an affair with, matronas or bading, he chose the latter. What is his reason?
“Mas marami akong friends na bading kesa matrona and for me, mas malawak ang pang-unawa ng mga bading,” he says. “Mga matrona kasi, mas wild mag-isip, nagseselos agad. Hindi katulad ng mga bading na mas nakakaunawa. Mas nakakaintindi.”
Has he had an experience with a bading? “Oo naman! Pero wag nyo nang ipadetalye. Mamaya na lang, magkuwentuhan tayo.”
Does he have a kissing scene with Raymond in “Love is Love”? “Secret. But if ever, hindi ko naman first time gagawin yun. I’ve had kissing scenes with Dennis Trillo before in ‘Aishite Imasu’ at torrid talaga yun. Bilang aktor, wala namang kaibhan ang halikan ng dalawang lalaki sa babae at lalaki kung nagiging professional ka lang at ginagawa ang trabaho mo bilang aktor.”
Jay is also a certified ladies man, having 12 children with six different women. He’s still young at only 44, but he already has two grandchildren. This is why he is not afraid to admit that he has really sown his wild oats and also had experiences with gays.
He knows that this point in his life and career, such a confession will not do him anymore harm. “Love is Love”, directed by GB Sampedro, opens in theaters this Wednesday.
