THE COMIC TANDEM of Boobay and Tekla debuted in January 2019 in “The Boobay and Tekla Show” and it quickly became a big hit on Sunday nights. They’ll soon celebrate their first anniversary. But even before they can do that, they are now given another new comedy show, also on Sunday but at noontime. So expect a Boobay-Tekla overload on Sundays.
Their new show is GMA-7’s “All Out Sunday”, a musical variety show that will make the home viewers’ Sunday noons never the same again with their riotous dose of comedy and great musical production numbers.
“Excited ako kasi sa ‘Boobay and Tekla Show’, we do mostly comedy,” says Tekla. “Pero in this ‘All Out Sunday’, mabibigyan kami ng chance to do musical numbers so panibagong challenge ito para sa amin.”
“It’s really nice to be a part of ‘All Out Sunday’ kasi magkakaroon din kami ng pagkakataong makatrabaho lahat ng talented Kapuso stars na kasama namin sa show,” says Boobay. “Kahit sa rehearsals pa lang, ang saya-saya na namin lagi. Napakaganda ng friendship among GMA stars and we all agree na dapat magtulungan kaming mabuti para mapaganda namin nang husto ang show at mag-rate ito nang mataas.”
They’re glad to be working in “All Out Sunday” with Alden Richards, Rayver Cruz, Glaiza de Castro, Julie Anne San Jose, Rita Daniela and Ken Chan. singers Christian Bautista, Aicelle Santos, and Mark Bautista, plus the discoveries of “The Clash, Seasons 1 and 2”, notably the new love team of Jeremiah Tiangco and Thea Astley who now have their own legion of fans.
“Hindi kami mapapahiya kasi bawat production number, bawat comedy skit, talagang pinaghahandaan nang husto, binubusising mabuti to make sure na magugustuhan ito ng viewers,” adds Boobay. “So don’t miss ‘All Out Sunday’, ang first new offering ng Kapuso Network for the new year 2020. Magsisimula na po ito this Sunday, January 5, at 12 noon.”
Aren’t they afraid of having overexposure on Sundays with a noontime show and a primetime show? “Hindi naman kasi magkakaiba naman ang gagawin namin in these two shows,” says Tekla.
“Siempre, we will make sure na iba’t ibang putahe ng song and dance numbers at pagko-comedy ang gagawin namin sa bawat show para hindi magsawa sa amin ang TV viewers,” adds Boobay.
