JAKE EJERCITO made quite an impression when he did a TV drama love triangle, “God Gave Me You”, with Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza for the Lenten presentation of “Eat Bulaga” and also in its popular Kalyeserye two years ago.
People thought then that he’s really ready to go into showbiz full time.
“Hindi puede kasi I was still taking my masters in Singapore at that time,” he says. “I was able to do the ‘Eat Bulaga’ then kasi I was on semestral break, pero kinailangan ko nang bumalik sa univesity ko after that.”
This time, is he more serious in giving acting another try? “It all depends sa magiging feedback ng viewers sa first movie kong ‘Coming Home’,” he adds. “Kapag maganda at favorable, baka ituloy-tuloy ko na.”
In “Coming Home”, he will play one of the six children of Jinggoy Estrada, who’s actually only his half brother. How does it feel that they will now play father and son?
“Okay lang. Hindi naman awkward kasi we are just playing a role and it’s only a movie that we’re doing. I’m really looking forward to doing scenes with him kasi I know he’s more experienced than me at malaki ang maitutulong niya sa’kin when it comes to acting before the cameras.
"Magiging challenge din for the both of us na gawing convincing ang performances namin bilang mag-ama in the story.”
It’s common knowledge now that he is the father of Andi Eigenmann’s daughter, Ellie, and Andi now has found a new non-showbiz love and also has a new child. How does he feel about this?
“Siempre, I’m happy for Andi kasi tahimik na ang buhay niya. Okay naman kami. We’re both involved in raising our daughter who can freely join me and my family.”
Has he also found a new non-showbiz love? “Wala. Masaya naman ako being single, so no problem. I can give more of my attention to our daughter who’s now 6 years old and is growing up very fast.”
