JADINE: THEN, still so sweet |
JADINE now, going going gone on their separate ways |
JAMES REID and Nadine Lustre have finally declared that they’ve split up after vehemently denying it when some reporters wrote that they’ve already called it quits. They made a joint statement saying:
“It’s true that we have split up, but not for all the reasons that are being spread on the tabloids and social media, but because after quiet and mature conversations, we decided to focus on ourselves not only for our careers but more for our personal growth as we are still young and we want to achieve as much as we can.”
This would negate current reports that Nadine got jealous because James was seen in a video kissing, Issa Pressman, Yassi Pressman’s sister who’s the ex of Derrick Monasterio. They add that they’re in good terms and Nadine says James will always have a special place in her heart.
They thanked their fans for their support and said they hope their fans would continue to support their individual careers. Nadine has since left the house in Quezon City where they’ve been living in for two years and moved to her own condo unit in Makati.
Their fans became so emotional after their admittance of their breakup. “Ang sakit!” they said in social media. “It hurts so badly.” The fans added that Jadine broke millions of heart with their revelation that they’re no longer the couple they supported in movies like “Diary ng Pangit” and “Never Not Love You”.
Admittedly, the careers of both James and Nadine are currently down in the gutter. James didn’t have any movie or teleserye the whole of last year, specially after he left Viva that nurtured him. Nadine had two movies, both without James, “Ulan” with Carlo Aquino and “Indak” with Sam Concepcion, which both didn’t do that well at the box office.
Nadine made the wrong decision when she rejected doing “Miracle in Cell No. 7”, which turned out to be the topgrosser in the last Metro Filmfest. The movie went to Bela Padilla. If she did it, then she would have been a part of a monster hit at the box office.
Between them, it’s James who seems to have a brighter future because he has an upcoming teleserye, tentatively titled Soul Mate”, which will pair him with a Korean actress, Nancy of Momoland.
If it becomes a hit, then that means James is being accepted by fans even if he’s going solo, minus his perennial ka-love team. As for Nadine, it has already been proven that viewers do not really care when she’s paired with other actors, so what would she do now?
