MARCO GUMABAO admits he is initially uncomfortable doing the hot love scenes he did with Lovi Poe in Viva’s sizzling love triangle flick, “Hindi Tayo Pwede”.
“I guess it’s but natural kasi, even if Lovi and I have known each other for quite some time since we’ve worked together in some fashion shows, this is our first movie together at ngayon pa lang kami aarte nang magkasama sa harap ng camera,” he explains.
“So, pareho kaming uneasy at first in doing the love scenes. It’s good our director, Joel Lamangan, was there to assure us he’ll support us every step of the way, basta gawin namin lahat ng instructions niya para hindi na paulit-ulit ang take ng eksena.
"But still, the love scene took more than two hours to shoot. I’m curious to see how they edited it and how it will come out on the big screen.”
He has done love scenes with Anne Curtis before in “Just a Stranger”. So how is it now working with Lovi Poe?
“It’s not fair to compare them with each other but they’re both nice, magaan katrabaho at parehong napakagaling umarte sa dramatic scenes namin. I feel privileged to be given the chance to work with both of them at this point in my career and I want to thank Viva na kinuha akong maging leading man nila.”
How about working with Direk Joel Lamangan?
“It’s also my first time with him and siempre, andami kong narinig na sobrang higpit niya, so I was intimidated at first. Very nervous ako sa first shooting day, but it turned out everything is light and easy on his set.
"Basta gawin mo lang nang tama ang trabaho at on time ka laging dumating sa set. So I’m always early kasi ayoko rin namang maging cause of delay.”
He’s now so happy to be given the chance to be helmed by Direk Joel.
“It’s really a great experience to work with a seasoned director like him. He motivates you to give your 100 percent in every scene kaya alert ako lagi to focus on my acting. I now have the highest respect for him. And of course, it helps na ang galing-galing din lagi ng kaeksena mo, si Lovi.
"Sa story, I play Dennis, ka-office mate niya na matagal nang secretly in love sa kanya, pero hindi ako makaporma kasi nga alam kong sila na ni Tony Labrusca. The title song, ‘Hindi Tayo Pwede’ by the Juans, applies to us.
"Hindi kami pwede kasi meron na siyang ibang love, but then, something happens to Tony in the movie and the story becomes more complicated so abangan nyo when it opens in theaters on March 4."
