LOTLOT DE LEON says she has let bygones be bygones as far as her recent conflict with ex-mother in law Pilita Corrales is concerned. “I’m okay,” she says at the contract signing of her son, Diego Gutierrez, with Leo Dominguez.
“Okay na ako kasi it was just a burst of emotions naman for me. Tao lang naman akong nagsalita para sa anak ko (Janine Gutirrez). We’ve all moved on, tapos na ang issue at huwag na lang palikihin pa. Maski si Monching (Pilita’s son who’s her ex-husband), naintindihan naman niya kung saan ako nangagaling that time.”
She doesn’t want to talk about ex-mother in law at all. “Tama na, di ba? Masyado nang luma ang istory kasi mahigit 20 years na yan, hindi pa matapos-tapos? Generation Z na tayo, so enough na.”
What did Janine herself say as a reaction to her Mamita and to her rant against Pilita? “Naku, si Janine, quiet lang naman yan lagi. That time kasi, wala rin siya, she went to New York for the U.S. Fashion Week, so busy siya roon.”
Monching Christopher, the dad of her four kids, was with her at the contract signing along with her current Lebanese husband, Fadi El Soury, and they look like they’re one big happy family together.
“Oh yes, kami naman ni Monching, when it comes to our kids, pareho kaming nakatutok sa kanila. So, lahat ng alam ko tungkol sa mga bata, alam din niya, at ganun din ako sa kanya. Given na yun as the parents of our children.
"Pag may concern, isang tawag lang naman to inform each other. And I think our children naman appreciate it na we are always there for them nang magkasama.”
So if a movie company would offer a project for her, Monching, Janine and Diego, would she do it?
“Okay lang sa akin, walang problema, lalo at maganda ang material for us. Pero dapat, mas mag-shine yung mga anak namin, lalo na si Diego na siyang pinakabago sa aming pagdating sa showbiz.”
We tell her Director Joel Lamangan has nothing but praises for her in her portrayal of Gloria Diaz’ girl Friday in the iWant mini-series “Beauty Queen” where she turns out to be Gloria’s lesbian lover.
“Yes, I really enjoyed that role. First time kong gumanap ng ganoong role and it’s very challenging for me. I also enjoyed working with Gloria Diaz as she’s so pleasant to work with.”
She also appears in an international series being shot in Cebu, “Almost Paradise”. “I appear in just one episode with the lead actor, Christian Kane, and Art Acuna. Pero ang one episode sa kanila, five days kinunukunan. That’s how meticulous they are.”
How about a local teleserye? “Kasama ako sa ‘Burado’, bagong teleserye na ABS-CBN with Paulo Avelino, Julia Montes and Nadine Lustre. Kasisimula pa lang mag-taping.”
