| ROCCO FEELS ANXIETY BECAUSE OF HIS GYM BUSINESS |

ROCCO NACINO is a registered nurse and a Philippine Navy reservist, so some folks are wondering why he is not serving as a frontliner now that we’re having a health crisis because of the corona virus pandemic.
“May iba naman pong paraan to serve and I chose to do a fundraising campaign, Food from the Heart, para sa mga nagugutom na mahihirap nating kababayan,” he says in a Zoom interview. “This is also the recommendation to me of the GMA Artist Center where I’m a regular talent.
"Kasama rin po ako ng Philippine Navy sa kanilang feeding programs and in helping frontliners sa checkpoints and their soldiers who are in quarantine. And now that we’re on GCQ, this is our new normal and nowadays, three’s a crowd.
"Kung kailangan talaga nyong lumabas, be strict with social distancing. Let’s remind our fellow citizens kapag nakakalimot sila sa distancing. Tulong-tulong tayo, mga Kapuso.”
Rocco admits he experienced stress and anxiety attack during the lockdown.
“Akala ng mga tao, wala akong problema kasi nakaipon naman ako. But you just don’t know kung ano ang pinagdaraanan ng mga tao ngayon. Kaya ako nagkakaroon ng anxiety, kasi ang mga business ko, puro Elorde boxing gyms franchise sa Ortigas at sa Pasig.
"At sa ngayon, reguired na kailangan manatiling sarado muna ang gyms kasi direct contact ‘yan, e. Nakaka-stress isipin na paano na ang new normal? Paano kami mag-o-operate? Kailangan na ba namin magsara? Mawawalan ng trabaho trainers namin.”
His dream house in Antipolo also stopped in its construction. “I’ve mentioned in past interviews na excited na akong lumipat sa new house ko. Puedeng-puede na talaga lumipat, kasi finishing na lang, but sobrang higpit ngayon sa village namin.
"Hindi nagpapasok ng mga karpintero para makapag-finishing. Sakit din sa ulo kasi gusto mo i-maintain ‘yung safety ng lahat ng tao, at ayaw mong makapagsimula ng scare sa magiging bagong tahanan ko.”
He’s not sure as to when GMA-7 will resume the taping of their primetime show, “Descendants of the Sun”. “Action ito, so karamihan ng eskena, outdoor. E, sa panahon ngayon, mahirap mag-shoot ng action scenes because of social distancing.
"But habang wala pang bagong episodes ng ‘Descendants of the Sun’, mapapanood nyo pa rin naman ako sa ‘Encantadia’ which is now shown after ‘24 Oras’. Gusto ko ring pasalamatan ang girlfiend ko (athlete Melissa Gohing) who is an endless source of inspiration for me kapag may times na feeling stressed ako.”
