THEA TOLENTINO is now a bonafide college degree holder. She graduated online recently from Trinity University Asia with a bachelor of arts in business and public administration.
Many netizens expressed their admiration for her since she persisted on studying even if she is busy with drama shows given to her by GMA-7 where she became known as one of their most effective contravidas. How did she do it?
“By sheer determination and perseverance,” she says. “Ever since kasi, importante sa family namin ang edukasyon kaya naging pursigido akong magpatuloy sa pag-aaral kahit sobrang busy na sa trabaho. Kung minsan, from taping, dumidiretso ako sa school na ni hindi ako nakapag-shower, gan’on.
"Kung minsan, duling ako sa puyat, pero tyinaga ko talaga. Naging very considerate din naman ang mga professor ko. They understand my situation. At may classmates ako talagang willing to help me sa assignments namin kaya nairaos ko rin kahit mahirap talaga. Now, I can proudly and confidently say that I have a college diploma.”
The other Kapuso actresses who have college degrees are Marian Rivera, Janine Gutierrez and Yasmien Kurdi. Now that she has finished college and currently not working because of the lockdown, Thea devotes her time on her own physicall fitness program.
“In this season of the pandemic, we should all be more health conscious,” she says. “I’m lucky to have friends who help motivate me to exercise and keep fit. We work out together while in the comfort of our own homes through the app @fitcrew_ph.
"Mas masarap mag-workout kapag alam mong may mga kasabay ka. You encourage each other to go on to achieve your fitness goals together.”
About her lovelife, Thea admits that she has broken up with BF Mikoy Morales, who she met when they were both contestants in ‘Protege: The Big Artista Break’ in 2012, before the lockdown started.
“It’s for our own personal growth,” she says. “But we have remained the best of friends.
"We have helped nga in putting up RelievePH, with Juancho Trivino and other friends, a non-profit organization na ang goal is to bring aid to local hospitals that need PPEs, gowns, masks, and gloves for their health workers.
