RITA DANIELA, SHAMAINE & NONIE BUENCAMINO |
RITA DANIELA is proud to play the role of the youngest daughter in the touching episode of “Magpakailanman” this Saturday featuring a family of frontliners in the USA who all eventually get the dreaded corona virus one by one.
The parents, Rainier and Remy Layug, and their youngest daughter, Leah, are all based in California while two daughters are in New Jersey and one daughter is in New York City.
“It’s really an honor kasi ang ganda ng story,” she says. “At talagang napapanahon sa pandemic ngayon. My parents are played by real life couple Nonie Buencamino and Shamaine Centenera.
"Kami ang magkakasama sa bahay sa California at nagkahawahan kami. I missed acting in front of the camera dahil sa lockdown.
"I’m glad na sa pagbabalik ko sa pag-arte, sina Tito Nonie and Tita Shamaine ang co-stars ko na parehong napakagaling umarte, under the direction of Zig Dulay.”
This is the second fresh episode featured in “Magpakailanman” since the lockdown disrupted the tapings of various shows. The first one was the DJ Loonyo Story starring Jak Roberto.
The new episode is entitled “Walang Iwanan: The Layug Family Story”, as written by John Roque, based on the extensive research of Rodney Junio who met the family of nurses infected by the virus due to their exposure in the hospitals where they worked as frontliners.
“This is the very first local show tackle the corona virus debacle head on and its effects on a family of medical frontliners,” says head writer Senedy Que.
“This is our own tribute to our selfless health workers who risk their lives in serving the nation and also the the resilience of Filipino families in times of crisis like the ones were having now, kahit saan man sila naroroon, magkakasama man sila o hindi.
"You will see the Layug couple being interviewed by ‘Magpakailanman’ host, Tita Mel Tiangco, and actual video footage about the real life experience they have gone through with the corona virus. We did this with their full cooperation and they have a truly very interesting story to share with you.”
Don’t miss the heartbreaking “Walang Iwanan: The Layug Family Story” on “Magpakailanman” this Saturday, 8 PM, only on the Kapuso channel.
