KEN CHAN & RITA DANIELA |
TWO NEW LOCAL films have just completed their principal phottography in this time of the pandemic.
First is “My First, Your Last, Luis Loves Luisa”, starring Rita Daniela, Ken Chan, Richard Yap and Lotlot de Leon.
This is the love story of a young seminarian and a bar girl, produced by Harlene Bautista’s Heaven’s Best Entertainment and directed by Louie Ignacio.
They had a straight lockdown shooting for more than a week in Pagsanjan, Laguna and had their last shooting day last Monday.
All safety measures and protocols were followed before the shoot, like everyone involved had to undergo testing if they’r positive to the corona virus or not.
Another new film that just wrapped up work is “On the Job 2: The Missing 8”, the sequel to Erik Matti’s first “On the Job” movie made in 2013.
The first movie is about contractual hired killers who are secretly released from prison to do their hit jobs. It was a critical and box office hit.
The sequel, written my Michiko Yamamoto, now stars Dennis Trillo, Christopher de Leon, Joel Torre, Ricky Davao, John Arcilla, Lotlot de Leon and Andrea Brillantes.
It is about corruption in government and its efforts to censor the media.
In line this, we would like to congratulate Direk Erik Matti for winning the best director award for a scripted program in the first Content Asia Awards held last Friday night in Thailand.
This is for his masterful direction of the drama about a domestic helper, “Island of Dreams”, in HBO’s “Foodlore” which starred Angeli Bayani, Yul Servo and Joey Marquez.
Here's hoping both movies will eventually shown in theatres and not just shown directly on a streaming channel like what happened to some local films lately that cannot find a theater because of the lockdown.
