ANDREA TORRES denies once again that she is living in with BF Derek Ramsay, although she admits that she happened to be there the night he hurt his eyes with the Ultraviolet light he was fixing inside his room. She even helped took him to the hospital with another friend.
“He was not confined naman sa hospital,” she says. “Binigyan lang siya ng eyedrops to cleanse his eyes. So now, he’s very careful in using his UV light and he now follows strictly all the instructions kasi it can be hazardous to your health kapag sumobra.
"As for those live in talks, I just don’t mind it na lang, kasi the more important thing is that we have a good, steady relationship na even our respective families approve of.
"I will never get tired of taking good care him as he’s also very caring. It feels good na walang negativity at all at masaya lang kami sa buhay namin.”
Andrea is glad to be acting once again before the cameras in “The Promise”, the story featured for one week in GMA-7’s hit drama anthology, “I Can See You”, which had an auspicious debut with Alden Richards’ “Love at the Balcony”.
This time, Andrea plays the role of Ivy, an aspiring artist who wants to do good for the sake of her family who lives in poverty.
Ivy is the girlfriend of Benjamin Alves as Jude, the cousin and right hand man of Paolo Contis as Frank. Jude takes Ivy to visit Frank in his lakeside home.
Frank is a widower who has become a recluse after his wife Yasmien Kurdi as Clarisse suddenly died in an accident. Soon, strange things start to happen.
Ivy starts showing some mannerisms that belong to Clarisse and the grieving Frank starts to believe that Clarisse is reincarnated in Ivy. But is Clarisse’s spirit really possessing Ivy’s body? Or is it just Frank’s way of holding on to the memory of his dead wife?
“The Promise” was shot on a lock in taping location in Cavinti in Laguna and in Lake Caliraya. Health protocols were strictly observed before and during the taping. Did Andrea have any reluctance taping during the pandemic?
“Yes, because of the virus, but you have to trust GMA and our production team dahil they really prepared for everything and followed all the mandates for the safety of all the people involved in the taping,” she says.
“Actually, na-enjoy naming lahat ‘yung taping namin. Umuwi kaming masaya at sa ngayon, looking forward na ako sa next kong work. We want to thank the network and the staff for making sure that we are all safe and that we were able to perform without worrying about anything else.
"I really enjoyed working with my co-stars kasi lahat sila, very professional, and si Paolo Contis, masayang kasama, laging nagpapatawa kaya very light and happy ang mood and atmosphere sa set kahit mabigat ang tema ng story naming about love and possession.”
