A NEW YOUNG LOVE team is born in the MiKel tandem of the new show, “The Lost Recipe”, that stars Mikee Quintos and Kelvin Miranda.
It started airing last week, Monday to Friday at 8 PM, and it not only went trending on Twitter but is now officially the highest rating show of GMA News TV Channel 11.
Online viewers all agree that MiKel is the new love team to watch out for.
Netizens say in unison: “Sobrang nakakakilig ang MiKel!” “Ang lakas ng chemistry nina Mikee at Kelvin!” “We will support Mikel and ‘The Lost Recipe’.”
Both Mikee and Kelvin say that they were very nervous when the show started.
“We were not sure kung magki-click ang show at ang bago naming tambalan sa viewers,” says Mikee. “But now, we are grateful sa suportang ibinigay ng viewers sa show at sa aming love team. Everyone also says napakaganda ng pagkakagawa at ng production values ng buong show.”
“Kaya naman kami ni Mikee and all our co-stars, including our director Monti Parungao, we are all energized by the very positive comments and encouraging feedback that we are getting from the viewers,” adds Kelvin.
“Pati ang aming online guestings ni Mikee, talagang sinusubaybayan at tinututukan ng followers ng show.
"Kapag we’re feeling tired sa work, we just read the viewers’ reactions sa social media accounts namin at talagang nakakawala ng pagod ang mga papuri and congratulatory messages nila sa amin at sa show.”
What’s Mikee’s impression of Kelvin before the show started?
“At first, I really thought he’s distant, parang masungit siya. I felt he won’t open up and he has walls around him so, in defense, itinaas ko rin ang walls ko. But after we had our whole day workshop, unti-unti, nakilala ko siya, lalo na nang nag-taping na kami.
"It turned out I just misunderstood him lang pala. Kasi ako, madaldal akong tao, I communicate easily. E, siya, it takes time for him to warm up pero slowly, nago-open up siya and now, I can say we’ve known each other better.”
What can she say about the opinion of some folks who say Kelvin is the next Alden Richards who she got to work in her last soap, “The Gift”?
“Sa tingin ko, parang hindi naman. They have different personalities, e. But they both have their own charms and they’re both effective actors. Sana huwag na silang pagkumparahin kasi pareho silang may kakaibang hatak sa mga tao.”
