DERRICK MONASTERIO is currently as a singer-performer in “All Out Sundays”, so he now welcomes being part of the new game-reality talent show “Catch Me Out Philippines” that starts airing this Saturday night on GMA-7 at 7:15 PM and on Sunday night on GMA Pinoy TV.
The show is based on a hit UK original and follows two amateur contestants who will go through weeks of intensive training with mentors and each with a different performance to master, like aerial silk dance, belly dancing, beatboxing and the like.
Their goal is to trick the viewers and celebrity catchers into believing that they are professional entertainers while performing alongside actual experts. The impostor who manages to deceive the most members of the audience will win.
“I really enjoy being part of this show kasi it gives me the chance to work with Jose Manalo who has first rate hosting skills and also with comedian Kakai Bautista. I’m learning a lot from them about hosting and doing comedy,” says Derrick, who is every inch a real hunky heartthrob.
“Kakai and I will be the Celebrity Spotters and abangan nyo yung witty banter namin sa show that will no doubt entertain and perhaps even confuse the viewers in guessing kung sino ba sa performers ang nagpe-pretend na professional but yun pala, amateur lang.”
He says he himself is awed by all the performances.
“I’m sure the viewers will be impressed by all the contestants and they’ll have a hard time in guessing correctly kung sino ba ang greatest pretender sa show, which is directed by Rico Gutierrez at world class talaga ang dating ng aming buong set.
"We have to be effective then na lituhin ang mga tao para mahirapan silang hulaan kung sino yung fake among the contestants.”
