MANOLO PEDROSA was discovered in showbiz when he joined Pinoy Big Brother in 2014. In 2018, he moved to GMA-7 and was cast in “Pamilya Roces” and later, “Inagaw na Bituin”.
He’s glad to be now one of Pauline Mendoza’s leading men in her launching soap, “Babawiin Ko ang Lahat”.
Manolo has cute chinito eyes and is obviously being groomed to be a Kapuso heartthrob. Our observation is that he’s got more charisma and terrific presence in person than on screen.
We hope that his star wattage will also be captured more intensely on camera for his own benefit. Does he feel any pressure now that he’s given a lead role?
“Hindi naman mawawala yung pressure,” he says. “It’s part of the job, so I just use the pressure to help in motivating me to do my best.
"I have a great passion for acting ang I’m just thankful to GMA for giving me this opportunity to face the camera once again and deliver my craft. I’m really happy when I know that I get to entertain viewers.”
In “Babawiin Ko ang Lahat”, he plays Justin, who helps in comforting Pauline as Iris when she gets oppressed by her dad’s first wife, played by Carmina Villaroel.
So how is it working with Pauline?
“It’s a pleasure working with her as she’s very good with her craft,” he says.
“Marami siyang crying scenes dito and there are times na one camera lang ang gamit sa Unit 2 and she has to repeat her scenes na umiiyak siya from different angles.
"Nagagawa naman niya nang maayos kahit paulit-ulit ito nang over and over again.”
He also enjoys doing heavy scenes with her while they’re on lock in taping in Batangas.
“Masarap katrabaho si Pauline kasi ang galing niya. Most of the time, I just have to react to her and hindi ko na kailangang mag-effort kasi tingnan ko lang siya, napi-feel ko na yung emosyong kailangan sa eksena.
"Maganda ratings ng show sa first week nito and we’re all praying na sana, patuloy na suportahan ng viewers ang aming ‘Babawiin Ko ang Lahat’ para magkaroon ito ng extension.”
