CHIE FILOMENO has done supporting roles in several films like “Crazy Beautiful You” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love”.
She was last seen supporting Kim Chiu in the teleserye “Love Thy Woman”. She now gets her biggest break playing the rebellious wildheart named Gina, one of the lead roles in TV5’s youth-oriented show, “Gen Z”, now seen on Sundays at 9pm, with catchup episodes on One Screen Cignal TV Ch. 9 and SatLit Ch. 35.
Since today’s generation is raised amidst all the bashings so prevalent in social media, what is the most hateful bashing has Chie ever got?
“I think the worst one was when someone posted on Instagram na bayarang babae raw ako,” she says.
“Sobrang masakit yun for me, to be accused like that. Kasi I really work hard as my mom raised me well. I’m now our family’s breadwinner and I’m trying to earn an honest living.
"No offense sa mga bayarang babae kasi, who are we to judge them? Baka last resort nila yun to earn for their loved ones.
"But huwag natin silang basta i-judge kasi di natin alam ang pinagdaraanan nila. Basta for me, as long as magagawa kong kumita sa malinis na paraan, hindi ko gagawin yun.”
She says it’s her family who was more affected by that bashing.
“Lalo na ang mama ko, sobrang naapektuhan kasi foul naman talaga yung accusation against me,” she adds.
“Kasi kung tayo lang mismo, we feel makakaya natin as showbiz is really full of intrigues, but kapag ang family natin ang involved at naapektuhan, ibang bagay na yun.
"Kaya nagsalita ako noon and denied it, not for me but for my parents na wala namang kasalanan, pero nadamay pa.”
