XIAN LIM in ZOOM PRESSCON FOR '1000 HEARTBEATS-PINTIG PINOY' ON TV5
XIAN LIM with BILLY CRAWFORD WHO HOSTS 'THE WALL'
XIAN LIM is hosting a game show for the first time in Viva's “1000 Heartbeats - Pintig Pinoy”.
“I’ve hosted beauty pageants before but first time ko to host a game show,” he says.
“Ever since, gusto ko talaga i-try ito. I watched Billy Crawford and Luis Manzano before and I’d like to be like them as a game show master, kasi iba ang thrill at pakiramdam.
"This show is franchised from the U.K. and the format is the same. Our grand prize is P1 million.”
Each of the contestants will be given 1,000 heartbeats as time limit to answer some questions. With the help of a monitoring equipment, the players’ heart rates will be recorded throughout the game.
The game is over once all 1000 heartbeats are registered. Conversely, the way to win the cash prize is by keeping their cool under pressure in all seven rounds. During the zoom presscon, the full trailer of the show was shown.
“First time ko napanood yung trailer at tumaas talaga ang pintig ng puso ko while watching it,” says Xian.
“I’m very excited for the viewers to watch the show as it’s really so thrilling. I feel so honored to host it kasi it’s something new and different.
"May nakakakabit na heart rate monitor sa contestants at may pintig board kunsaan makikita kung gaano kabilis ang heartbeat mo. Kawawa yung mabilis kabahan.
"Kapag mataas ang BP mo, dehado ka. So dapat composed ka kahit under pressure. But pinaghandaan namin ang anumang puedeng mangyari.
"May paramedics standing by. There’s one instance na sumobra ang taas ang BP ng isang contestant and we have to check kung okay pa ba siya.”
How about him? Does he get nervous hosting the show?
“Mahirap kapag hindi ka kinakabahan sa any project you do. Our director, Direk Bobet Vidanes, is very helpful kasi alam niya na first time ko and he says na mas dapat kang kabahan kaysa hindi ka kinakabahan.
"Kung kabado ka kasi, it means you’re concerned, it means doing the show is the whole world to you. I feel blessed he’s there to guide me.
"But now, I’m really just enjoying it kasi masaya siyang type ng game show. Sana suportahan ng viewers kasi we all exert our best effort para pagandahin ito.
"Chad Kinis is with me as co-host. He helps to calm down the contestants kapag masyado nang tensyonado with his funny antics na out of this world sa mga kalakohan niya.”
When was the last time he felt his heart raced in real life?
“When my house was robbed and ransacked recently. Some folks blame celebrities for showing their homes in their vlog. But you can’t just blame the victim kasi, ang puno at dulo niyan, bawal ang magnakaw.
"Vloggers just do what they have to do kung gusto nilang ipakita ang bahay nila. Sad lang the case remains unsolved. So just be more careful kasi mahirap ang panahon ngayon.”
How about in showbiz, do intrigues still make him feel tense?
“Noong una, kinukuwestiyon ko talaga. But at this point, wala na ako sa stage na kinakabahan pa ako dahil sa mga nasusulat sakin. Sa bawat kilos ng isang celebrity, may masasabi talaga ang mga tao, so just learn not to pay attention to those things.”
How about in his relationship with GF Kim Chiu, does he still get tense about anything?
“Sa relasyon with Kim, tapos na kami sa mga ganyan. Now, we are just doing our thing and we even share what we do sa publiko. As of now, tumahimik na naman. Di na kami naiintriga.”
So his heart still really beats for Kim?
“Yes, malakas pa rin ang pintig ng puso ko for Kim. Basta we bear in mind na, siempre, sa isang relasyon, every single day, you should work on it. Bawal ang basta makampante.”
“1000 Heartbeats-Pintig Pinoy” will air starting Sunday, March 21 at 8PM. Viewers can access it on TV5 and via the Cignal Play app. Download for FREE for Android and iOS users.
