HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!
Easter means rebirth so here’s a prayer for all of us to be reborn in this deadly season of the virus. May the Risen Christ help us and protect us all from the dreaded virus.
The past Holy Week is topped by the sad news that singer Claire de la Fuente passed away due to the virus. Let’s all pray for the repose of her soul.
Former actor and president, Joseph Erap Estrada, was also reported to have died after also being infected by the virus, but it turned out to be fake news.
If someone left, there’s also a new arrival, with international theatre actress Rachelle Ann Go of “Miss Saigon” and “Hamilton” fame giving birth in London to a baby boy who is to be named Lukas Judah. This is her first born with British husband Martin Spies.
One of the top stories this past week is Derek Ramsay 43 years old, proposing marriage to Ellen Adarna, 33 years old, last Holy Tuesday, after only a couple of months of being together.
Ellen has had several boyfriends before Derek, like cager JC Intal, non-showbiz guy Filo Cueco (with whom she joined the “Survivor Philippines Couples edition”), another non-showbiz live in partner of one year Raul Olbes, Raymond Romualdez (son of Tacloban mayor Alfred), Baste Duterte, and John Lloyd Cruz, the father of her son Elias.
Ellen was also linked to a foreigner and actors Ejay Falcon and Paulo Avelino.
On the other hand, Derek Ramsay was married in 2002 to Mary Christine Jolly with whom he now has a teenage son named Austin.
Then he was linked to actresses Solenn Heussaff, Angelica Panganiban, Cristine Reyes, Andrea Torres and non-showbiz single mom Joanne Villablanca who people thought he’d marry.
Many of their friends congratulated Derek and Ellen, but sadly, the general public’s reaction is quite cynical.
It seems many people are wary with their love life and many observations openly predicted: “Hindi magtatagal yan.”
One netizen made a comical post, saying she’s been paralyzed from the waist down, but thanks to Derek and Ellen, she was able to walk again.
“Nang mapanood ko po sa TV ang proposal ni Derek, pinilit ko talagang tumayo at lumakad para patayin ang TV,” she wrote.
Well, here’s hoping that the couple will prove their detractors wrong and live together as husband and wife for the rest of their lives. That is, if ever their wedding would even take place.
Another sad news is the rumored separation of Jennica Garcia and Alwyn Uytingco after two kids and seven years of marriage.
Let’s pray their relationship will also have a rebirth and, for the sake of Easter, they will eventually reconcile.
