JACLYN JOSE is playing the role of a trusted mayordoma in two projects.
First as the all knowing factotum of the billionaire Albert Martinez in the erotic thriller to be shown in Vivamax starting September 10, “The Housemaid”.
Then as the yaya and confidante of Dina Bonnevie who turns out to be the real mother of Dina’s alleged son, Tom Rodriguez, in GMA-7’s primetime drama series, “The World Between Us”.
In “The Housemaid”, it’s Jaclyn first time to work with former Miss International Kylie Versoza who’s being launched in the title role, and with its director Roman Perez Jr. So how is her experience with them?
“I’ve always been supportive to newcomers kasi naging baguhan din naman ako,” she says at the zoom presscon of “The Housemaid”.
“This is Kylie’s biggest break and I wish her all the best. Good luck sa kanya kasi magaling naman siyang artista. Parang hindi baguhan. Good luck din sa movie at sa Vivamax.
As for Direk Roman, I’m sure viewers will like ‘The Housemaid’, kasi ibang-iba ang pagkakatimpla niya sa various elements ng pelikula. Thriller ito but very subtle ang treatment so interesting siya to watch.
Did she get to watch the original Korean film on which “The Housemaid” is based?
“No, I didn’t bother to see the original movie kasi baka magaya ko lang yung character ko doon.
"But sa ambiance pa lang ng set, sa galaw ng kamera, I can feel na kakaiba siya.
"When I do my scenes, I ask Direk Roman kung puede ba ito ang gawin ko as my own take sa character ko and he’d tell me kung okay lang sa kanya o hindi.
"I’m really glad to be part of this movie. Abangan nyo sa Vivamax streaming on September 10.”
As for “The World Between Us”, it will take a season break after this Friday with Alden Richards as Louie going to prison for a crime he didn’t commit.
So it will be a cliffhanger and viewers will have to wait until November 15 before they can find out what really happened to him.
The show cannot tape new episodes as it’s ECQ or hard lockdown due to the delta variant and new tapings are not allowed.
“Siempre naman, our safety comes first,” says Jaclyn. “But I’m sure the followers of ‘The World Between Us’ will be waiting for the show kasi mas lalong magiging kapana-panabik ang susunod na mga pangyayari.”
Jaclyn has nothing but good words for their lead actor, Alden Richards.
“Napakabait niya. Magalang. Generous sa mga kasama. Magaling umarte. At mautak siya kasi lahat ng kita niya, nailagay niya sa magandang negosyo kaya dapat siyang tularan ng iba pang artista. He deserves all the success he’s getting.”
She admits she feels some anxiety now because of the pandemic but it’s good she continues to find some work.
Aside from “The World Between Us” on primetime, she also appeared in “Nagbabagang Luha” in GMA’s Afternoon Prime.
“Nami-miss ko na nga ang anak kong si Andi at mga apo ko sa kanya kasi doon na sila nakatira sa Siargao,” she says. “Buti na lang kasama ko pa sa bahay ang anak kong lalaki, si Gwen Garimond.”
