XIAN LIM is now officially a Kapuso.
But unlike Bea Alonzo who was given a grand welcome in a five-star hotel, Xian was simply introduced in a zoom presscon.
Well, to begin with, after ABS-CBN, Xian became a Kapatid first and he’s still hosting a game show with TV5, “1,000 Heartbeats”.
Xian’s first teleserye with GMA-7 is “Love. Die. Repeat.” He will be paired with Jennylyn Mercado in an unusual story similar to the intriguing narratives of “Groundhog Day” and “Happy Death Day”.
Jen will play a woman named Angela Zafra who mysteriously gets to relive the day that her husband died over and over again.
Known for the many hats he wears as an actor, model, host, singer and director, Xian is set to portray the character of Bernard Yuzon, Angela’s husband, a civil engineer who works in a company that gives old houses a make over.
He plans on starting his own construction company for his family's future.
“It feels wonderful to be a part of this innovative series na ‘Love. Die. Repeat.’” says Xian.
“I feel grateful sa GMA Network na nabigyan nila ako ng pagkakataon to be part of this project and I feel excited to work with Jennylyn as I’ve seen her past movies and I know she’s a good actress.
"I’m so happy to be given this chance to work with her.”
He’s also thrilled with his role as Bernard.
“Nabasa ko pa lang ang first page ng script, gustong-gusto ko na yung role at yung story. I’m a huge fan of the genre concerning time loop stories.
"And the script shows na maganda ang journey na tatahakin ng characters naming lahat in the story.
"I’m also looking forward to the other GMA artists na kasama namin sa cast na ngayon ko pa lang makakatrabaho. I look forward to making new friends.”
Now that he’s a Kapuso, he wishes to be given the chance to appear in ‘Bubble Gang’ someday.
“My cousins and I grew up watching the show. Tawa lang kami ng tawa. And I’m a fan of Michael V so sana, magkaroon ng chance na makatrabaho ko siya.”
His girlfriend, Kim Chiu, is said to be currently going through a rough patch in her career and their fans are urging Xian in social media to convince Kim to follow her at GMA.
What can he say about this?
“Ever since, hindi kami nagpapakialaman ni Kim when it comes to our careers,” he says.
“Even doing this show with GMA, ni hindi ko pinaaalam sa kanya kasi I know naman na we are very supportive of each other when it comes to our career decisions.
"Even sa movies or other projects that we do, we never came to a point na kailangang magpaalam muna sa isa’t isa bago kami mag-decide to accept a project or not.
"About whatever it is na pinagdaraanan niya ngayon, I am not in a position to talk about it.
"Out of respect for her, ayoko namang pangunahan siya tungkol diyan.”
